I know they look alike yet subtle different and they are priced a little different as well. What what is the real difference? Anyone?

Cal, I can confirm but the impression i had from the Web pictures and the Wire Traps I do have, are that the Wire Trap is a fairly pointed design, where as the Steel Trap is a more blunt style.
do you have both images to post so as to refresh my mind.

I love the Wiretrap, the quality is tha same as the Tuxedo, frankly it is extremly close to the Tuxedo, but with stitching . The soles appear the same except fro the golf spikes.

Steel trap on the left wire trap on the right Very comfortable shoes The design on both is slightly difffrent (Way in which leather was stiched) besides that they are almost identical.

Soles of shoes, identical, steel on left wire on right

Wire on left steel on right

They are both equaly comfortable i just would like for oakley to come up with more styles of dress shoes they are well worth the money i got the steel traps off of E bay for 100 bucks and the wire traps from Zappos for 180 zappos changes their prices weekly so its hit or miss with them i think they lowered there price on the wires to 150 this week, also i normally wear a 9.5 in shoes but with these i had to get a size 10 so they do run a bit small

No, Igot a size 12 which is what i normally wear in Oakley. The only shoes i have to get larger are the SI Assualt and Overdrive in 12.5. My wiretraps are perfect at size 12.

Bringing this thread back because Jim acquired a bnib pair of steel trap from Jason during the RED day. I got a pair myself several years ago and I agree it's badass bec of the 2 tone Italian leather but it doesn't really scream Oakley because it seems like it is inspired by a bowling shoe. Nevertheless, I still get plenty complements when I have them on.

I also brought up that there is a very similar shoe to the Steel Trap which nobody can remember during the event. I am glad I found this thread and found a picture online courtesy of Zappos:

Wire Trap

BTW, I notice this thread is categorized under "wires", how do I change that to footwear?

I still wish I had gotten the Tuxedo shoes back in the day. Freshly out of school and mortgages, so I wasn't in a position to buy something like that.

Too bad I didn't go! To be honest I didn't think I had anything he'd want and my collection pales extremely in comparison to 99.5% of you.

I have the above mentioned Tuxedo in merlot and the steel trap in black and brown. I wear the steel trap very often and find that thorough cleaning and massaging in a leather lotion keeps them looking very new. I got some kiwi cordovan polish and also use the same leather lotion on the Tuxedo. I only wear the tuxedos to special occasions I just took the spikes out. I certainly don't play golf in them. They both wear really well. They both the best quality pair of shoes I've ever owned.
