The 24K XX looks nice but a 24K Juliets will look better!

I am looking forward on pursuing this project in the near future. But first, I still need to do some more research on what type of rivet is to be used to get this done.
I went to a local Ace harware store to look for a smaill rivet...but unfortunately, the smallest they've got is 1/8. I am guessing the size I needed is about 1/16s or smaller. Preferably an airline grade rivet as well.
I would also need the right size head attachment for the rivet gun.

materials needed to complete this project:
1) 24K XX frame
2) any Juliet frame
3) specific rivet ( preferable airline grade)
4) rivet gun w/ the right head and metal block
5) a drill w/ small head
6) a light weight hammer
7) padded vice grip or holder
6) T6 screwdriver
7) a little practice or riveting experience

Goal: to drill out the rivet from a 24K XX and the Juliet then swap out their eye-main frames then rivet is back together with the nose bridge piece

This may require some work and practice -what do you guys thinks? NUTS?

Sounds like a neat project to me (expensive, though).

Yes, nuts, but very cool. You'll need a plasma juliet for the orbitals. If you're interesting in selling the spare parts when you're done, let me know.

Expensive it is. I came up with this idea after seeing a 24K XX frame only was sold in Ebay for $130. Then I can just use one of my older Juliets for the swap. I will try to pay a visit to a local aircraft maintentaince school for the airline grade rivit. I would like to thank you guys in advance for the support...any rivet info/help will be much appreciated. This project will take a long time.

Expensive eh? That means this would require someone with lots of money and a love for Oakleys... Where's Monsterdog?? I bet he can fund our little conversion :):) J/k

According to a United Airline Sheet-Metal Mechanic, the rivet used is 1/16. He will try to order them for me. He said they don't really use this size rivet except for the cockpit of a 727.
