Since they're aluminum, can it be done? How? Would it be expensive?

I don't see any reason why it couldn't. All you would have to do is disassemble the vault and send in the pieces you want done. Powdercoat might be a better option IMO, as there are a large number of colors to choose from, and it's generally a less expensive process.

Cool - I'll look it up. Also makes me think that a Stealth Vault would be nice...

all the local shops near me have a 250 dollar minimum purchase... i know because i was gonna have the rims on my corvette anodized or powdercoated... one option is to take apart the vault and use duplicolor - metalcast paint, it's made for aluminum and looks like it is anodized.

It is actually possible to powdercoat smaller things in your own oven. If you research it on the web you will find step by step instructions on how to do it at home...

Might be heavy but I bet you could get a Rhino Lining dealer to spray one for you - dude, talk about industrial....put a 3D decal on top and have it sealed in...it would be a 20lb vault but be friggin' indestructible!

Anodizing specialists usually have a minimum charge like Phil said.
And powdercoating would be a lot cheaper although putting it on a vault would probably chip quite easily at the hinges, because there is a very thick coat applyed.
