I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone.

I was in a shop yesterday trying on all the new stuff and decided i definately wanted a pair of the Chrome/vr28 black Crosshairs.
my GF asked to try them on so i thought ok why not, i was then mortified when she said "ooooh i love these, buy them and then we can SHARE them"

the reason i am so worried is she does not understand proper oakley care, therefore i do not let her wear my oakleys anymore.

so now when i get these gorgeous new crosshairs my damn GF is gonna want to wear them.

Dude...sometimes you just gotta draw a line....my wife can't drive my truck, or wear my Oakleys.... I bought my wife a less expensive pair of minutes...which she wore for about a minute...now my son has them.

my wife is not allowed to drive my corvette or truck and can't touch the oakleys. i did buy her 3 pairs of oakleys for here self, why 1, why 3 and pockets. so knows better to touch mine. you should buy your gf her own pair and call it even.

Yeah Lex. I wouldn;t share my O, even with the g/f. I let Jenn wear a pair of Dragons once and was still mortified watching her handle them. And I had that one g/f run of with the pair I "shared" with her. I would say be nice and buy her a pair though too.

Draw the line with the gf. She hasn't demonstrated the ability to properly care for her eyewear, so she shouldn't get to fool with your Oaks.

Now if she was your wife, I might have a slightly different answer. Cause' god knows, a wife has a legal right to mess with your property (especially if you live in a community property state). :)

All of this negativity is probably why none of the women in your lives understand the obsession. My gf asked to wear my White Camo Dogs, so I was sure that she was well versed in how to care for them, and maintain them. Basically, I put the fear of god in her. She knew I'd have a heartattack if something happened to them, so she took care of them as I prescribed.

I suggest indoctrinating the women in your lives, and teaching them to love and respect your Oakley collection. That way, they'll be safe(r) and hopefully the lessons learned will spill over into other areas of your life.

My wife doesn't touch them, but she knows to take care of them. When we were dating, she'd wear them a lot, but doens't much care anymore. I gave her my spare $10 pair of cheapos, and she's been happy with them.

HOWEVER....my friend's GF came over one time and started handling them all, first with my brother's Ruby Juliets, then my prized 'first pair' Splice's, and walked around the house modeling them, and keeping them on her head the night (New Years Eve). Then getting in all our pictures. Thank goodness I'm handy with the Photoshop airbrush.

luckily she agreed, i have also offered to get her a pair of dartboards or doggles but she says no she only wants the crosshairs.

Well, the wife all of a sudden started asking me oakley questions over the weekend, and then said she wanted to get a good pair. So we went to my OPD and and tried on a few pairs. She wants the unknowns, and said the new fashion models are crap. Fair enough, least she didn't want the Romeo II's or something.

FOOK,
ive just had another talk with her,
apparently shes buying them on her own whether i like it or not. she said its unfair how i have 90 pairs of oakleys and she has none, she wants a pair of her very own.
she said i can use them whenever i want and they will live in my cabinet so i guess i cant complain too much.
i shall just have to wait till new crosshair colours come out before i get a pair of my own.

My wife latched onto my Mars the second I got them - she decided she liked them....but then again her first question was "do they come in any other colors?"....(she is Ms. Fashion"

"Nope" was my reply....passed her my Juliets to pasify for the truck ride to her families for Easter....but of course I monitored her usage the whole way...
