Anyone know what the 75 thing is all about (website background, some apparel) or is it just a fashion thing? I've never liked clothing lines that resort to putting American football-style numbers on their clothes so I was a bit dismayed to find Oakley plugging it.

Jim Jannard founded Oakley in 1975. This year is the 30th anniversary, hence all the 75 stuff and comeback of the retro logo and Razor Blade.

It's all obviously FP inspired clothing.

Yeah, I was born in '75 too. No wonder I'm an Oakley fan. :-)

Ah, I had thought of that but didn't know it was as early as '75, thought it was more very early 80's.

The original grips were '75 when Jim Jannard was selling them out of the back of his car. The company took form in the early 80's.
