Have you sampled an "Asian fit" on your Northern European face?
Did it work for you, or was the fit annoying?

I only have Asian fit in the Unknowns, mainly for the exclusive colorways. I didn't notice a huge difference, but I believe they just had slightly different nose pieces.

Primarily agree with Dann. Many of the Asian fit pairs have very minor adjustments to make them 'Asian fit' - usually just different nose bombs. The only one that I have experience with on a really different fit is the Asian fit Gascans. Those do fit quite a bit different than the standard Gascan. A good rule of thumb is likely whether the Asian fit frames would be compatable with standard lenses or not - as an indicator to the extent the fit of the frame may be greatly different from the standard release.

*runs to a place that has the Jupiter Squared LX now.

Some models, like the LX (Jupiter, Jupiter Squared, Frogskins, Holbrook, Garage Rock), run a bit smaller by only a few millimeters to better fit the smaller face. Like previously stated just minute changes. They may not be marketed as Asian fit, but. Also take into account the lighter lens colors that don't hide the eyes as it is disrespectful to hide your eyes when in conversation. It's like a suspicion type thing, I think. That's why on some of these Asian fit and LX models you'll find awesome light lens options not always available on the regular pairs.

The way of accomplishing Asian Fit does vary from model to model, so that could affect whether or not it will fit ok on non-Asian faces.

For many sport frame that already include small and large nosepieces, Asian Fit just means that the large nosepieces are already installed, and you could just swap the small in for standard fit.

For frames that have separate (not molded into the frame) but non-interchangeable nosepieces (Straight Jacket, Pit Bull), typically the nosepieces are just taller and/or thicker. I am not aware of any frame differences.

For frames with molded-in nosepieces, the nosepieces are taller/thicker, and some styles actually have less frame curvature. As Paul said above, Gascan is much flatter. Fives 3.0/Five Squared is also slightly flatter.

For wire frames, the stems that the nosepieces are mounted on are longer to allow a greater range of adjustment.

One recent exception is the AF M2 Frame. The curved bottom edge of the lens is actually cut higher than the standard lens to increase clearance to your cheeks. The stock pictures actually show that pretty well.

Thanks for the well considered replies!
I had considered an Asian fit New Zero which seems to be shown with an M frame style, one piece nosebomb, of which I've several.
My current NZ has individual bombs per side, and perhaps merely swapping these will change the fit sufficiently, if required at all...

In that instance, you are talking about the lifestyle nose piece (the one-piece M Frame style, which is not compatible with the M Frame, but is with the New RazorBlade from 2005), and the sport nose pieces which were released later and eventually boxes contained both. So if you are looking at those, then the Asian fit question wouldn't apply.
