Hey,

Can someone here share the best way/tool to remove the titanium plates on the Pit Boss 1?

Thanks!

I did see that thread, BUT I know it's possible, I've seen pics of the plates as removed by DrChop who does it to cerakote them.

Nope. Seems like it's some sort of state secret.

I know this is late, but hopefully it’ll help someone in the future. You remove the screws, then wedge a credit card between the plates and frame. Slowly twist the card until the plate pops off. The plates can be popped back in, but I don’t think you can do it many times before the plastic rivets break or wear down to the point of being useless. I’d do it maybe 2-3 times tops.

For the Pit Boss 2 it’s really easy, just remove the screws and the plate comes right off. The plates on the ear stems are removed by pulling off the icon; the screw is underneath it.
