The day after Christmas, a buddy and I are going to take his Jeep Wrangler on a little known trail called the TWAT (Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail). Since the temps are going to range from cold (10) to very cold (-15), staying warm while we tent camp is gravely important.

So what brand do I trust my (possibly, if things go very wrong) my life with? Oakley of course.

Figured I could add some fuel to the fire on what might be a slow Christmas eve news day.

The special edition GP-75 seemed appropriate, as they were designed with off roaders as an inspiration.

Then we have what I consider one of my favorite Oakley products. Its sadly been so long since I bought them, that I forgot what model they are. I've had them, and used them every year, for about 6-7 long Wisconsin winters.

I even still have the knife holder.

Pair the boots with Oakley Performance Basic Crew woks. Mostly synthetic fabric, as cotton is a huge no-no.

Two winters ago, I went to a Vault store and bought a pretty basic Vault Exclusive jacket. It was on sale for $100 and I liked how plain it was. It checks all my boxes, water proof, detachable hood, good looking and warm.

Also, Sadplant gloves and an Oakley beanie.

Next up is another favorite. My 6 year old Kitchen Sink. This is how good it looks, even after 50,000 miles on my back while riding a motorcycle.

Those would be the Casing Boots. I have the same ones and I baby them so they hopefully last the rest of my life. Love them.

If they ever came back with a limited release Casing, I'd buy two more pairs. I just went for a 3.5 mile walk in the snow, with air temp at -10. My feet were sweating the whole time.

Exactly why I rely on them. Great grip and insulation. Fairly water resistant too.

The Casing (and Casing Mid) are one of the most durable products Oakley has ever put out, in my estimation. If I had a favorite thing about winter, it would be pulling those boots out and wearing them all season.

Loved those casing boots but missed out on them, so rugged looking and I think spelt AP range massively!

Were pretty lucky in Wisconsin. We have thousands of square miles of National Forest with hundreds of plowed forest roads. Nobody really spends time in the forests in winter. So it's pretty easy to just drive till you find a spot you like and pitch a tent.

Our two night camping we only saw three trucks. They just smiled and waved as they drove by.
