I'm not sure how somebody could even tell? Anybody could have had an extra genuine sticker and put it on there. Unless somehow you could tell the sticker was a reproduction thus making it a fake factory pilot off the bat. As far as proving that it's genuine though, the only way would probably be to ask Jannard, haha.

Sticker would be a lot thicker i imagine.

Im thinking its a case of someone putting the sticker on the lense.
Back in the 90's you could buy those stickers seperately and if you look at the edges of some of the letters its slightly raised which tells me its come off a sheet of stickers and applied.

I could be wrong, but that aside, i think it looks quite cool, i love the yellow splatter, definately the rarest and nicest one after the grey.

Yea, that's the most likely scenario, somebody just put a bunch of different parts together.

Pulled out all the M's for a photoshoot quickly, put them all back and only then realized how blurry the photo was. Ah well.

Look at all those beauties! Why are vintage M Frame earsocks that are not black, slate or white so dang hard to find (even new versions of the standard colors are not easy to find)? I would have thought that bright color accessory unobtainium like red and green to be more popular back in the day and thus at least be seen periodically on sets people have today. Even blue and pink just come up mainly with splatters. I guess people didn't really like to switch their unobtainium from the stock color much.

I bought a neon yellow and neon green BNIB recently! Was really excited about that!

Never saw the red available anywhere at all. Pink I did... the clear one is also rare to get.

Great purchases Alex! Pics? Who is hoarding all the vintage unobtainium? Hahaha.

I've got black, slate, and barrel ear socks in boxes. I don't know why the seller didn't have nose pieces. Must have lost some, I'm always killing earsocks before noses.

Nice, the barrel color is definitely not easy to come by.

By the way, I tried to install new Heater lenses into a couple different beater Gen1 frames, still no luck. Seems like too tight of a fit for me to get the center section of the lens to go in and down below the date code. Don't know how the guys that put Gen3 lenses in Gen1 frames do it. I guess I have no luck with tolerances, or I'm not willing to shove the crap out of the lens and put that much stress on the frame. Was hoping it would work out to be able to install G26 into customs I was thinking about, oh well.

My older lenses are definitely a lot smaller. I have a few that won't stay in a new frame, but they lock up well in Gen1 and 2 frames.

I have a G26 in Strike. I can try it in some older frames and if it works we could swap? Or are you married to heater?

Ross, I don't actually have any Gen3 lenses, I just took a couple Gen1 frames to the O-store to trying things out. But yea, I'm giving up on the idea of mating Gen3 lenses to Gen1 frames.

Dann, yea definitely looks like those stickers were readily available back in the day, which makes sense.

This is as far as mine will go.

Here's the lens in a crystal frame to show how much too long it is. It might be possible to get it trimmed just a tad to fit.

I've got a couple blue lenses that fit older frames, in addition to the V, 67, Sweep, and Hybrid I keep in them for display.

Adrian, why do you want to put gen3 lenses into gen1 frames?

To be able to use colors not available for Gen1 like G26 into possible customs, but since it is not possible, I will probably drop the idea.

I would say it is possible, with a little trim on the lens

That's true, and Dr. Chop can probably trim it in no time and make it look super clean. I initially thought it would just be a super easy way to get lenses for customs to go with Gen3, which is why I was interested in the actual fit. I still might do it once I get bored, although still plenty of stuff on my list to keep me from getting bored for now, haha.

As we talked about it earlier on, there you go. Got these recently, really good state. Somehow I prefer to keep them in the box rather than putting them on frames now. Maybe I'll revised that later on.

M Frame Kits

Also, finally managed to put these all together, the three originals Mumbo frames and lenses.
