Business took me to Atlanta today so I drove up to the Oakley Vault in Dawsonville. I'm glad I did because I picked up eight FMJ/Gold Iridium Valves for $20 each. I'm giving six of them away, selectively, to my trade show booth visitors this weekend!

Life is good.

Also a new shirt...Square Wire...and Red/Positive Ruby Jupiter too.

Wow. What trade show is that? Not Oakleys, I presume ...

It's a tire repair / tire tools show. Most companies give away some of their boring products as door prizes. I'm going to have my name mentioned six times. "What? Ken's giving away ANOTHER pair of Oakleys!"

The FMJ Plat / Gold Iridium Valve was my wedding gift from my wife on our wedding day.

Too bad the C6 wasn't out at the time....

Ken, I've visited auto-related trade shows a couple of times in the past, and recall maybe once or twice when cheap sunglasses were given away as promos. Gifting Oakley Valves should set you a cut or more above the rest. Someday down the road, if I ever run a booth at a trade show, I just might steal this page out of your playbook! Great call, coach!

The admin folks walked from booth to booth with a microphone drawing names from a fishbowl and announcing the prizes. Nobody really paid attention. When they got to my booth there were ten people gathered waiting with great anticipation. It went over well. It also got some great discussions going with some of my most significant customers who I didn't know were O fans. Amazingly, two of those significant customers got drawn...wink wink. I highly recommend O booth prizes, but beware. You will have to get in the mindset to "let them go." After the first guy took them I started thinking, "is that the kind of guy who will care for them properly..." Again I had to let them go.

Sounds like a great event.
I have to say, what you described has crossed my mind many times.
