Well, very very comfortable and sturdy sole construction, so they won't disintegrate. However, before the summer was over, and without being harsh on them, the silicon detailing has started to come away from the fabric a good bit. That's a disappointment, and that's why they get 3 stars.

Of course, these are great, extremely comfortable as were the original Smokes. However, I'm not too sure why they redesigned them - they are very, very similar to the first model. That said, they're still great sandals and with the slight update in design, if you don't have a pair then these would be an excellent choice.
