Frame/Lens: Pewter/Black Iridium, Pewter/Ruby Iridium, Pewter/Black Iridium Polarized
These were my first pair of Oakleys, bought the Black Iridium ones just after this model came out. They have lasted well although the spring hinges broke about 4 years ago and were replaced by Oakley service. Although I have quite a large head I found they fit really well (spring hinges help) and I never had a problem with them slipping or falling down - even bending over and almost upside down while washing the car they just stay put. Very comfortable and lightweight. My other half calls them my 'Posey Sunglasses' possibly because the lenses are really quite small - I look a bit alien while wearing them. One spring hinge broke again a while back but I managed to find a similar pair used on eBay and swapped the arm out - Oakley have no parts remaining apparently and can't repair them any more. I like them enough to sacrifice another pair to keep them going. Since fixing the original pair I've also got a pair of Ruby and most recently a pair with BIP lenses in them. All great glasses but I think my favourites are still the original BI ones. Classic.

Small but beautifully formed. On my face they sit -very- close to the eye and the Ruby lens does give me a hint of the insect. A light frame so comfortable for extended wear.
I get a slightly more blue tint off centre which can be a bit strange when looking about. These were my daily pair for several years and have held up remarkably well.

Simply one of the best and most wearable Wires ever made. The orbitals are a little smaller and less oval shaped compared to the E Wire 2.0, making them a fit for smaller to medium heads. However, they look more sleek compared to its predecessors with extra sculpting on the nosebridge and arms to give it a more refined look. The spring hinge works well and the earstems are a work of art. The earsocks on the E Wire 2.1 is a treat, as it's designed a little differently compared to the regular Wire earsocks.
The frame is suprisingly lightweight and wears comfortably for hours on end. For this reason as well as it's sleek looks and it's fine sculpting, I give it a 5.

Purchased these as a my first luxury glasses back in 01' and to this day they work like a champ. Awesome construction, good comfort and premium materials made these a great pair of shades. The small, sculpted 2.1 design and slightly angled lenses were a unique look (not for everyone). The glasses have a very "matrix" like appearance in person, futuristic.

I've got to give props to my old standby E-wires for that last five years. The fit and finish is typical Oakley, that is to say, excellent. As others have said, they can be a little on the small side, but I didn't realize it until I picked up a pair of Big Square wires which fit my big face better. Nonetheless, these glasses are great--sleek, light, and the Black Iridium lens is great for sunny Florida weather. If you can pick up a pair on eBay, it's worth it.
