When you're dealing with an adversary 4.5 billion years old, you better go big, or go home. Trenchcoats offer large-scale protection from harmful UV light in a fluid, sculptural design. Like each model in our Jacket line, Trenchcoats utilize Oakley's XYZ Optics for a virtually distortion-free view of our home planet. Iridium? coated lenses reflect glare while heightening contrast -- perfect for going toe-to-toe with our solar system's neighborhood bully.

This is not my favorite frame but still amazing.I received today three new Trenchcoats to my collection.
Big frame but my used Blood are more confortable i think by beeing used, the three new frames are tighter and more closed frames.
The downside is that they are not more on store and Oakley dont sell lens or earspads to then making then more collectibles than usables.
Still an amazing frame specially for big heads.

These were my first pair of oakleys back in 1995. I saved for 3 months to buy them!! Bought from Mayhem surf shop in York. I loved them then, and love them now. I agree with a lot of the above, they do feel "Brittle" to wear, but, call me over carefull, I wear them with great care, and only for looking good in :) and mine still look good as new, no breakage. One of the best product Oakley ever made,, by far! and as Ian said above, I live the glory days in them!!

Loved them, had them for years and years till two years after ownership, the frame snapped by the eyebrow (thinnest piece). I had Oakley swap them out for a new pair, and they lasted me for another few years, till this time they said they did not have the mold anymore and would not replace/repair. Sad to say I wish I could have kept them, the lenses were awesome, but the frame "o-matter" seriously had issues with longevity.

I can't say enough about Trenchcoats...they were my first pair of Oakley's. I bought them in 1995 and still have them. They have been through alot sent in for repair a couple times, and now are not used, they are on the shelf in their original 1995 vault for safe keeping!

A quick story about my first experience with Oakley's customer service regarding these frames. It was less than a week before my wedding and I accidentally broke the frame as I caught one of the open stems on a door frame and snapped it's hinge area. I called customer service in a panic because I wanted to take them with me on our honeymoon. I talked with the first rep, he passed me onto the manager after explaining my situation. The manager told me to overnite the glasses to them, they would fix or replace anything needed to bring them back to original condition and then they would overnite the glasses back to me. After telling him my story, he actually said "We definitely want you wearing your favorite Oakleys on your honeymoon!". I was so impressed with their support, repair, and turnaround. I shipped them out overnite, tracked it..they fixed them that day and shipped them back out that nite, and I had them the next morning! I can't say enough for their customer service and my experiences every time I've had an issue (not often).

Unfortunately, as other have said this frame is a more fragile design and I decided after the parts were not available to fix them anymore to put them on the shelf for display only.

I bought a pair of straightjackets in a very close color to my Blood red trenchcoats to use in place of them. Of course that was many pairs of glasses ago! ;)

I've wanted a vintage pair of Oakley's for a while and after contemplating buying off a vintage website, I found these on half.com and quickly picked them up. They are huge and look a bit silly, but that's half the fun really. They also came with an older style grey bag, which I haven't seen. The lens covers pretty much your entire frame of view, so no light leaks in. I'd recommend these if you can find them, but if not, get a pair of Monster Doggles. They're pretty much the same thing.
