Seems like a downgrade material-wise from 1.0 to keep the price down but has solid functionality improvements. 2.0 is easier to don thanks to a velcro flap at the back hand. Dropping the carbon fiber knucle plating was unexpected move but the kevlar padding replacing it is adequate from typical scuffs on crashes. The leather palms improves tactile feel but again seems to offers decreased protection compared to previous gloves. Fingerprint graphic seemed comedic to me at first but it actually works improving grip. Overall, the 2.0 is a softer more comfortable version of 1.0 so it doesn't replace it. And it retains the great look typical of it's Oakley lineage.

I'm on my second pair for use on my motorcycle. Excellent grip factor and ventilation. The extended/bigger wrist strap feels more secure than the MTB and I can still fit my Timebomb on my wrist comfortably. I also used them to segway into the Winter but they are not waterproof, so they're more useful for cold steering wheels than clearing off the windshield. The finger print grip on the 1st gen was sweet looking but wore off quicker than I would have liked. The next gen had full fingerpad coverage and that seems to be holding up to the same sort of use much better. Mucho recommendo for ground rocketing.

Yes, these are intended for mountain biking, but I actually use these for driving on cold days. I found that normal winter gloves are too bulky and sometimes too warm when all you want to do is take the edge off of a cold steering wheel. The FP 2.0 fits the bill quite nicely. The thin, soft palm offers the right tactile feel while still insulating your hands enough from the cold. The fingers are flexible enough so that you can still turn radio knobs and push buttons on the instrument panel with confidence. The rubbery fingerprint graphics add quite a bit of grip to the tips of the fingers, too. The Kevlar knuckle padding is a bit over-the-top for what I am using the gloves for, but not quite as bold as the carbon fiber on the original FP. The velcro tab on the back of the glove allows a great deal of adjustment for tailoring the fit.
