Frame: Earth Brown
Lens: Tungsten Iridium

I have owned numerous pairs of Oakley Sunglasses over Years. I just made the switch to wire frames. My first pair of wire frames is the Crosshair, which were my Favorites until I had the opportunity to try on the New C-Wires. I was immediately Sold. The frames are super light and remain steady at extreme movement. The Tungsten Iridium lenses are fantastic in medium to Bright Light. These are definitely my go to sunglasses for Bright Sunny Days. I highly recommend them!

Frame:Brown
Lens:Tungsten Iridium
Very light and comfortable on the head, nose, and around ears.
Stay put. The tungsten iridium works well in cloudy and medium bright days. Reasonably good coverage on the periphery of vision.
Easy to wear in public without feeling like an alien, but with a quality feel as per Oakley habit.

after i had my crosshairs ripped off out of the the car, along with my 1/2jackets, and my lens cracked on my mframe, i've had no oakleys for about a year. i loved the crosshair, but the 2.0 didn't impress me at all. i came on here again and fell upon the new c-wire and said, "these could be my crosshair replacement". went to the store, tried em' on and said yes! much lighter than my crosshairs and fit my large face. a good alternative, but not the best as i liked the aviator style of my 1.0's lol

These are my sixth pair of Oakley sunglasses in the last 10yrs. I had some stolen, others broken, and one pair that flew out of a car window :(. Anyways I have kinda grown away from the loud look of some of the new plastic frames...I really wanted some Flak-Jackets but they were just too much for everyday wear for my style.

I was in the store and tried on the new C-wire and loved them. Stylish metal frames but light enough for active wear. I've worn these while running, and played several rounds of golf in them. I know some people can't golf in full framed lenses, but I found that since these are larger lenses than some others I have no issues. The tungsten iridium lens works great for golf with it's bronze base...it's no G30, but is much better in bright conditions which we have a lot of here in the south. The new "mono-shock" hinges are great in my opinion. Not as flexible as the previous springs, but feel much more stable. Fit is great and comfortable even after wearing them all day. As others have said the gel nose pads are awesome!

These are my new favorite shades!

I have owned the same pair of Original C Wires from years ago and i have completely enjoyed them to the fullest extent that they could offer... they would be rated a 5.

I was very excited to see the launch of new C Wire line this year and was making routine stops by the shops to try a pair on. Great fit was ready to buy on the spot, unfortunately found out that Oakley is only offering these glasses in one frame/lens combination. After talking with Oakley Customer Service about different combinations that are found on multiple legitimate websites (Cabela's, etc.) They said that those are not real Oakley Glasses because they do not produce that combination. So now i am confused that an authorized Oakley Dealer is carrying impostor glasses or Oakley did not have the time to help with my order. Extremely Disappointed

Another winner. Oakley has managed to pack a lot of mad science into this package. The new monoshock hinge gives them a secure grip without squeezing. They do not shift around like spring hinge glasses or squeeze like the Whisker can, they feel like the best of both worlds. The new nose pad system grips the nose securely and they stay put. The ear socks extend all the way to the end of the stem making them even more secure. My only concern is how the monoshock hinge will hold up in the long haul, not because of any apparent flaws, but because it is so innovative.

The shape almost a mix between a Square Wire and and Aviator. The lense is fairly square with just enough teardrop to make them look a little bada** while still being classy. They are a good fit for medium to large heads and look good on a lot of face shapes.

Overall this is a great all around sunglass. A perfect mix between style and functionality. Dress them up or down, you can't go wrong.

I found the fit of the C-Wires (2011) to be perfect on my (relatively square) face. Previously, I have always gone for smaller lenses (i.e., E-wires), but I found the redesigned C-Wire frame to be ridiculously comfortable, thanks to the light weight and gel nosebombs highlighted by the previous reviewer. I do like the more sturdy feel of the hinges as well--I don't need to worry about these frames breaking.

These were my first pair of prescription Oakley's, so my opinion may be biased, but the clarity of the polarized lens is incredible.

I would recommend the C-Wires to anyone looking for a good medium size Wire frame (not quite as large as the Plantiff), or anyone considering the Crosshair 2.0s (the frames are similar, but put them side-by-side and their differences are apparent).

Overall, bravo to Oakley on the new C-wire.

Something is to be said about a name. Marketing experts are aware, and this may have ultimately led to the "re-release" of one of Oakley's more popular wire frames: the C Wire.

This iteration of C Wire, however, differs completely from its predecessor. In keeping with Oakley's recent trend of larger lenses, this release definitely provides greater coverage in the form of larger lenses. However, the lenses are no longer "cat-eyed" or "teardropped" as they were with the original C Wire. Instead, they resemble a more typical aviator-style sunglass available in today's market. The spring hinges are also completely redesigned, with an anchor-like mechanism firmly attached on the inside of the frame.

Personally, I do not care for the fit of the glasses. The lenses are a bit too large and because of this they do not seem to fit well, although they may fit better on others. Also, the spring hinges are "barely" able to be categorized as spring hinges. They actually offer very little "flex" because of the anchored piece of metal, but this was likely desinged to alleviate any problems with the spring hinges breaking. To their credit, it is doubtful that the spring hinges will break on this model. To their detriment, the spring-hinge feature was almost entirely defeated by their design. Whoops, Oakley.

Despite their shortcomings, the one positive aspect of the glasses that has been yet unseen is the incorporation of "gel" nosebombs. Soft and supple, these little pads feel like pillows on the bridge of the nose.

Although the gel nosebombs are a great achievement, the glasses do not particularly impress - especially with the name "C Wire". But for those who appreciate aviation-style glasses these may still be a winning pair.
