I've had a pair in my Radar Range shape for the last 2 years. My favorite all around lens so far. Really enjoying the bronze shade, not as crazy yellow as the titanium iridium and not as dark as the gold iridium polarized. Enhances contrast well and works well in the Arizona desert from medium to extremely bright days.
Got these in some Pit Bulls. Didn't like the frames, so returned 'em. But did try the lenses outside. Hence this review is based on a very cursory experience with the lenses.
The polarization cuts glare effectively and creates very nice color saturation and contrast. The 15% VLT makes these lenses a very good choice for an all-rounder, usable in very bright light and optimal in moderately bright light and overcast conditions. The contrast-enhancing tint will really help in the less-than-blinding conditions, keeping things vivid.
If they put these lenses in the Straight Jackets, I will most likely buy 'em!
I searhecd a bunch of sites and this was the best.
Got these in my first pair of Oakleys today, Tightrope in Carbon frame with TI lens. Very happy with them. Good vision in very bright conditions today. Dark enough to hide your eyes but lens colour when worn is not quite as brown as some images show on the web. I might have been better with the polarized bronze lens but I thought that would have been too light a lens colour and my eyes would show. Good choice anyway.
i am a big fan of the bronze color tint. so these work perfectly for me.popped them into my juliets in exchange for emerald iri's.
i like the color as i am 41 and the tungsten iridium is a little more subtle than some the "look at me colors". plus i got these for the hazy days of winter!
Just got this lens today as I'm writting this in my new Oakley Half X in plasma with Tungsten Iridium. These are sweet shades! This however is a review on the lens so i'll concentrate on that! This Tungsten Iridium has really impressed me being such a big Oakley collector , so I know just about all the lenses. This is better on my eyes than Titanium Iridium and even VR28 Black but it is simliar to VR28 Black actually very much the same feel. The VR28 black is another great lens! This new Tungsten Iridium to me it feels softer on my eyes (not so rich of a bronze base like titanium.) and thats a good thing! I can even wear them even out in the full Western Australian sun ok (which does get very bright over here)! However I will use my Carbon Black Iridium Romeo 2's for that purpose , and save these for Golf. A sweet lens and the only overcast lens that really suits me! Giving me allowance to even wear them in full Sun without undue Iritation from contrast!

Yes it is, but it doesn't have as much "flash" as black, ice, or titanium iridium. It seems that as long as the frames are not a translucent color they are mirrored enough.
Despite the lack of color, Tungsten Iridium provides an excellent lens that's easy on the eyes and is very versatile. After having an opportunity to give these lenses a "test run" in the new Half X, I must say that I was more than impressed with their ability to be worn in overcast conditions, yet provide great protection even during periods of bright sunglight. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh, but due to their "standard" colorway they're only receiving a 4-skull rating.
Having used it much more extensively now, Im actually not digging the bronze base. It does its job of subduing the bright conditions but even on not so hot days, where the weather is just nice, it makes the world seem rather gloomy as it gives a 'dusk' effect.
The redeeming factor though is that this colour is quite useful when its raining as the contrast helps me to see clearer. This benefit is minimal in very heavy downpour with very dark clouds though.
I have this colour in a pair of Half Jacket XLJ (polarized) lenses that came with a frame that I really wanted. Bought the combo but replaced the lenses with a pair of VR 28 Black Iridium.
I think Tungsten kind of falls in between. It's fairly dark, even if it gives some contrast, and the colour is a mix of brown, green and yellow/gold. I recommend VR28 or VR28 Bl.Ir.
The difference between Tungsten Iridium and Titanium Iridium is very small in my opinion. The basetint is the same, just the Iridium should be different, but I can't see the difference.
Nontheless they are very versatile in low light conditions as strong light conditions, plus the name sounds very nice...
Great lens to look through. Once you adjust to the color, which is a brown tint, they are pleasing to wear. I like the contrast that is provided. The iridium coating gives a nice shine on the outside although I find it hard to color coordinate with brown colors. Great lens to own though.
