Got these since it was so hot, in the summer, and I didn't want to use boots while working. These took a LOT less time to work in. The shoes have been holding up very well and don't squeak as much as the boots. I haven't used these enough to know if the tread will wear or the seams will tear. They do feel sturdy. Oily surfaces haven't been TOO much of a problem. The jury is still out on how they will perform in colder weather.

The 2.0 shoe is almost perfect. Slippery surfaces were no problem for this shoe. I wear mine abord ship and I am on my feet 10-12 hours per day and they have performed well.

I was anoyed that they had narrowed the toe from the 1.0's, I hoep the 3.0s go back tot he wide toe area to perfect this shoe.

i got these shoes for PT here in Afghanistan and they would squeak when i first got them but now they're perfect. they're molded for my feet and i run 4 miles a day with them. when i gave them a break for a week and put on my regular running shoes, i felt so much lighter, these are good for training. i love them and would recommend them.

I've had the SI boots, 2 pair of SI shoes, 7 pair of Teeth / Teeth Low, and 4 or so pair of the more casual shoes. These SI Assault shoes are by far the worst. After just 2 weeks of wear, the seam between the rubber toe and heel is coming apart, and the eyelets spin. I usually get 8+ months of constant wear out of a pair. I also don't like how subdued the design is...they almost look like grandpa shoes from Payless. PLEASE BRING BACK THE TEETH MODELS OAKLEY!!!

Bought a pair and loved how comfortable it is. Almost makes you feel your floating on air. However, after a few months the seams started to rip apart from the rubber sole. And the hole became bigger and bigger. After a few more weeks the same thing happened to the other pair. I couldn't believe it as these were my new favorites...but I still don't use it that often for it to break easily as I have at least 12 pairs of Oakleys that I cycle around. Am so dissapointed with the build quality of this new version. I have the 1st Gen SI's in Night Camo and Black too. But this new design just came apart easily with very little help from me. Sooooo, dissappointed!

Having just recently recieved my SI Assualt Shoes and having had a pair before there are some subtle differences.
Of course the first thing you notice is the different tread pattern, I also noticed that the sole is more formed around the arch. The leather is still as good as before but i don't remeber the tounge being as short.
They definatley have a narrower profile to the old style especially around the toes.
The leading edge of the toes i find the rubber on the top to be much more ridged as too the rear around the ankle. I believe this would give your toes more protection. There are no SI logo's as well.
Is the new style better, I can;t really say as i was never able to wear my old ones as much as i wanted, as they were a little to small I now have a 12.5 which is the size i needed all along. This leads me to believe the sizing is the same.
Overall cosmetically they are very close, the tread pattern seems to be more practical for everyday use and as yet i have found no squeaking on any surface.
Hell you can't go wrong buying these, as you couldn't with the old ones.
