My Navy callsign was Chet after the jazz trumpeter-singer Chet Baker, thus my username. I became an Oakleyhead in the early 1980s while living in Coronado and San Diego, California, and getting into the running and beach scenes. I later became an Oakley dealer after retiring from the Navy, buying an outdoors, climbing, cycling, and ski shop in a small town in the Colorado Rockies and settling down. Being a dealer helped feed my habit. I'm still an avid cyclist (road and mountain), skier (Alpine and Nordic), hiker, etc. My right knee forced me to retire from running in 2024 after over 50 years. I'm still a dedicated Oakley fan--sunglasses, prescription eyewear, apparel, backpacks, you name it, I have it.

Thank you for the warm welcomes. Yes, owning a shop was a blast, as was most of my time in the Navy, so "You're welcome!" for my time.
I'm having trouble saving my updates to my profile. My browser is Safari on a MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.6, in case that makes a difference.
