No copper. Those must have been yellow exposed to a lot of light. Jim

I will. I have a few O Shoes (Shoe One) NIB in a variety of low top and high top, all colors and a variety of sizes. I'll have many other hard to get items which I'll post prior to the event. I will also sign for those who trade with me. There will be RED collectibles. And tacos and Coronas. :-)

Additional note... the Shoe One is affected by light. They can fade over time. My recommendation is to keep them in the box and only bring them out when you want to show them off.

Did I say these are "special"?

Regarding the O Shoe (Shoe One)... all I have are NIB. I have a few of each color and sizes, both low top and high top. Apparently I hold these in higher esteem than most collectors. Like the M Frame, there are a ton of inventions and a lot of brave thinking that went into these. They certainly are on my top 10 list.

Dann... I meant no disrespect whatsoever. This site has more useful info regarding Oakley than any place on earth. While the OakleyForum is a format for posting that I am more familiar with... I should have posted here 1st or at least at the same time. I am very sorry for that. It seemed to me like the two sites were "brother/sister". Each has referenced the other. If my assumptions were wrong, again... I apologize.

I have modified my post on the Oakley Collector's Day thread.

I hope this helps...

New in the box Oakley Shoe Ones (carbon fiber and kevlar) will be available (in limited quantities) for trade at the Oakley Day in August at RED Studios.

My bet is that most of the hard core collectors are missing the original Oakley Shoe. The one with the Carbon Fiber upper and kevlar outsole. I will have several at the event that I will be willing to trade for other things. Everything I have will be new in the box or "one offs".

I hope you can make it.

IMHO Oakley is great for many reasons... brave being the 1st.

I have to wonder why so many collect Oakley. Why did we sell so many stickers?

My bet is that Oakley represented the bold. We did things that others would never think of.

Why are you collecting Oakley?

I do have a few Oakley Shoe One in low top and high top, yellow, black/grey and white brand new, in the box, in a few sizes. I deem these highly desirable times forever. I also have a few business cards from 1975 with the acorn nut logo.

Eyeshades seem to be scarce on this site. I value them "almost" as high as Oakley Grips (number one).

1. The Original "Oakley Grip" new in box.

2. An original Oakley Racing jersey from 1976.

3. An Original Oakley 2 new in the box.

4. Oakley .5's new in the box.

5. Oakley 3's new in the box.

6. Oakley F-1's new in the box.

7. Original Oakley B-1B's new in the box.

8. Original Oakley O/20 Goggle new in box.

9. Original Eyeshade new in box. (this is a big one)

10.. The original business card from 1975 (acorn MX logo)...

11. An original Oakley Blade or Razor Blade new in box.

12. An Original numbered Mumbo in box.

13. An Original Medusa.

14. An Original "Over the Top".

15. An Original "Shoe One".

16. Oakley "Shoe Two".

17. Time Tank (Minute Machine).

17. Oakley "Shoe 3".

These are the real "holy grails". At least to me...

Thanks to all for the emails. If I don't respond directly to your email it is likely that I already have what you are offering. If you do have something I am interested in, I will respond by email. For all others... let this be a "group thank you" for your responses.

I will be putting the museum together in the next couple of months so it may be a bit before I email those with something I have interest in. I also need to make a list of things I have to offer for trade.

My best.

So I lost my password for my original account (jannard) and started an new one.

I am building a collection of new or mint Oakley stuff from 1975 to 2007. I, as you might imagine, have quite a lot to trade for unique items. I have Shoe Ones in a variety of colors and sizes that are NEW in the box and never opened that I am willing to give up for interesting history.

If you have something that matters and want to trade, please let me know. I am open to trading or offering a visit to RED Studios if you have something of interest.

Again, the items need to be new in the box or mint... this needs to be collection worthy.

My email is jim@red.com. Please don't email unless you have something great you are willing to give up. I still am pretty busy. :-)

If you are interested in RED's progress... check out:

As I get closer to the end, this stuff really matters to me. I now have a place for a proper Oakley museum and want to fill it up with the very best stuff. I am willing to make "really good trades" for the best.

I have the prototype Medusa, prototype Pit Boss with squished "O" (that I still wear today), original Oakley Grips, stickers and t-shirts from the 1970's, original business cards and quite a few other things (like this 1st invoice) that remind me of the history of Oakley. I started Oakley with $300 in 1975. May 1st actually. What a wild ride it was.

I appreciate the following and interest of everyone here. It certainly makes the effort worthwhile and life rich and full.

My best to all.

HDO or High Definition Optics on product or product packaging is the absolute best. We are protecting the "O" trademarks from pirates!

Thanks again,

This is all GREAT stuff... I'm particularly looking for the use of HDO from 1998- 2004. Trademark stuff.

Thanks to all for the help.

We are looking for early 1990's HDO stuff. If you have any pictures of products, packaging or advertising showing HDO or High Definition Optics... please post.

Thanks,

I'll try to ad ones that haven't been posted... mostly pre-1990.

There is a lot of little stuff from 1975-1990 that is pretty interesting. More to come in the next few weeks.

Long term, it would be nice to have everything available hi-res.
