Anybody seen the new Photochromic Radar lens? Are they different than Transitions? Better? Also has anyone heard a release date for the crystal red gascan?

I think Transitions wasn't feasible on sheild lenses, so they went with a different tech. I'm not sure if it's better or simply possible.

I'm pretty sure transition is just a trade name. Photochromic is the name of the actual process/technology.

I believe both dann/fred & joeybravo are correct. Transitions is a trademarked company (thus the logo on the corner of the lens) which has a certain way it engineer's its transitions lenses, thus the reason/ability to trademark it (and again the reason we have to put the logo on the lens). Photochromic is just the technical term for a lens that transitions to a darker state.
I remember something awhile back that Oakley was working apart from the transitions company to allow them to work on a polarized photochromic lens as well as the shield photochromic lenses which were both not possible under the former technology.
