Wow. Are there ever a bunch of these buggers.
Square Wire
Square Wire 2.0
Square Wire 2.0 30mm
Square Wire 2.0 Spring Hinge
New Square Wire (NSW)

Can anyone help clear up a couple of questions?
1. I know Oakley isn't the most clear in their naming conventions. What's the newest rendition...the New Square?

2. The NSW comes stock as C5. To that you can add polarization. And I think to that you can upgrade to Titanium frame, all with respective price hikes. Does there exist a Titanium frame w/o polarization?

3. Does anyone really hate the C5 & wish they were lighter (ie, is the extra dough for the Titanium frame worth it?)

4. Do any of the NSW have spring hinges?

1) Yes

2) No

3) I think C5 is light enough. Even my Spikes aren't too heavy.

4) All NSWs have spring hinges.

New Square Wires that are being manufactured now have stronger springs than the ones that were originally manufactured back in November 2006. The result is a more defined spring detent when opening/closing the earstems. I don't wear them all the time either, so tension loss in the spring is not an cause in noting the difference.

Its also worth noting that the premium Titanium frames which only come polarized are also hydrophobic.

Don't forget the hard case included.

IMO the Spike can feel a lil' heavy at times for some people, at least from what I've gathered, but most of the other Wires are so thin that it's not THAT much of an issue.

However, you still gotta admit the Heaven-like comfort of the Ti frames, and for that +Plrzd +Hydro +Hard Case, I believe it's worth the extra dough.

The Ti version came out 6 months after I bought my first pair of New Square Wires (which are polarized). I definitely would have sprung for the Ti had I known...
