I had to visit the customs yesterday to pick up a package from Japan. Most of the guys there allready know me ("ah, some sunglasses again?"), so usually can pay and get my stuff pretty fast. In the past they told me that it is allowed to receive up to 25 pieces of Oakley items but that has changed know. They told me that oakley has changed their "principles" (not sure about the correct term) and that is not allowed to receive Oakley articles from another country anymore. That isn't a problem within the EU, but sounds as if there'll be no more internat. trading and buying cheap from ebay.com.

Can someone confirm what the guy at the customs told me? Regarding the weak dollar I'ld understand that move...

I personally could not see how this is a valid point. If you ordered directly thru oakley, then maybe Oakley can deny to send the order out (for whatever reason), but if they ship it it would be out of their hands. Also, if they are shipped from different sellers, how can oakley regulate this? It seems more like a German Customs issue (which I would not be suprised), where they are trying to put a cap on how much one should be able to get. But then again, if you are paying your duties, why would customs put a cap on it? It's money for them.

For some reason, I read that as used men's underwear. I guess that's one way to keep customs from bothering to open the package.

Hey Brent, I also had that in mind. But I think you'ld have got a letter from the lawyer if the package got picked up (actually that's what they told me). I don't understand the point at all - is it possible that these restrictions are for resellers/shops etc. only? I'm wondering that nobody else heard about that, because I doubt it is only a restriction for german, it should be a EU thing.

Btw - at the end they gave me the Crosshair from Rick and it's an awesome piece, but the guys told me "that this was the last time!"...

I think they are Bullshitting....and the fact that they KNOW what you are getting is not good either....so I'm with Brent...you may want to ask them about those pieces that never reached you....
