well they out sold all the competition so I don't understand such a drastic reduction. Its definately not sitting well with the mac fanboy community myself included. But hell sometimes megafans get the shaft. On a brighter note the apple store did issue me a refund for the difference. Of course it was store credit, but I'll take it given the alternative.

I hear ya Jason and lord knows I want one (being a Mac fanboy myself), but so far, I just can't warrant spending so much on a data plan (using edge no less) when now I can just find a hot spot and check my email and get directions. It's a hard sell for me until the HSPDA upgrade or a cheaper unlimited data plan happens.

Glad you got a credit for the difference though. I'dve been super pissed as well.

Well one thing I can say about apple is they have excellent customer service, albeit a little inconsistent (one manager told me yes we'll refund you and another one said no ultimately they did it because they already said yes once). Any way Bill I can def. relate to the monthly cost thing. If it wasn't for the fact that I barely ever use my phone I doubt I'd be able to afford it either.

Wow I just watched the guided tour video of the iPod Touch...simply amazing. I definitely need that thing very soon now.

Yeah that thing is tight! I'm still a little bummed that they decided to make it flash memory based. Imagine it thicker, but with a 120 gig hard drive.

i imagine though that the battery life would be destroyed if they used an HDD instead of flash. With a color touch screen and wifi i don't think it needs any movable parts reving up to seek data when you're watching video or browsing music.

LOL, i've seen that pic before. It would suck if battery acid melted that battery to his head. Just imagining him trying to jump a car with his head...

wow! This price drop has caused enough of an uproar in the fan boy community that Steve Jobs has released an official letter stating that they will issue a 100 dollar store credit to anyone that has already purchased an iPhone! That's down right amazing! Hate to be one of those poor saps that bought an iphone on ebay though, you can only get a refund if you bought it from an apple store or at&t store.

Hello! Been looking at the iPod Touch ... it looks real great, they've even worked out the screen problem that many people were having with the initial batches of iPod. Just wondering if anyone here has one and don't mind writing a review on it. That would be much appreciated!!

i have an ipod touch and I love it. I mainly use if for watching video when I'm on break at work. I've also hacked it so that i could put other applications on there to use.
