at the top of this thred your talking about the fact that "white trash" are not the target that oakley is looking for. the $350 glasses and a $1200 watch but have you looked at the insane prices of the jackets and other murchadise that NASCAR has. the average jacket is $350 - $400 and if it is a camp jacket for that season fans of that driver will pay $550 - $600 for the jacket and around $60 for the hat. so a pair of siqnature champ glasses cuold likley gor for good coin.

Not according to ebay. People are barely getting retail for them and the Scelzi's and JPM Spikes can be found for below retail now. Dont know whether to chalk that up to boring colorways or lack of interest in american motorsports...

Love the Valves... As far as white trash goes - I definitely am... My wife says we are Executive white trash and I agree because money doesn't buy class. We don't buy Beamers and bigger houses - we just buy bigger monster trucks....

I am not a NASCAR fan myself but it's a huge sport and I respect it - sort of.... The average NASCAR fan makes 23,000 a year - which is amazing since the drivers all fly in their private jets and there are even F1 drivers converting to NASCAR because of the money....

It's a screwed up world - but you gotta love it!

hey now...dem thur trailer livin' fellas save fer a long tyme to afferd them thur NASCAR items. They'all got dem Dale Earnhardt plates on thur trux, loud mufflurs if they even got em, and the general lee flag and horn tones to match. They all pray to the gods of the oval to make sure Jeff Gordon don't win anothur championship because he ain't no yankee of rebel, he just ain't.... HAHAHA (I can get away with this, my dad is a NASCAR nut, but doesn't sport the trailer life lucky enough)

I mean can you imagine how many beer cans and whiskey bottles one would have to recycle to buy a pair of Valves??? It is bad enough the redneck racing league pounds you a minimum of what, $75 or so per nose bleed crappy seat ticket, probably $15 to park at most venues, and the beer...

The NASCAR fans spens WAY more than the NHRA fans by far. The tickets are more expensive, the merchandise is pretty close, beers are more, food is more, blah blah blah. NASCAR fans are probably the most dedicated fans around, and they certainly are not some to overlook, but Oakley is a big sponsor of many NHRA teams major or minor. You can't expect them to go too crazy, but I would imagine they will continue to grow the market in Nascar. I would guess those cars are much more expensive to sponsor, cost a ton more to keep going round and round, and really, could you see a Mad Scientist whipping everyone elses @$$ out there making left turns only? I guess it could work HAHA!!!!

I agree.... But Oakley got me into NHRA... Not gonna say Oakley would never get me into NASCAR if Jim ever decide's to go all out with a sponsorship.

Hell - if Jim wants to do underwater basket weaving.... I'm there!

Realy? Who? There's one former F1 Pilot competing and he's not in it for the money - I think he made better money in F1, as a matter of fact - but for the competition.

^^ yeah - not for the money...he just wants to race as he SUCKED in F1. He sucks at driving, and he can't even walk without hitting something...HILARIOUS!! Oldie but Goodie...

"You ******* idiot...you broke my ******* head!"

BBBWWWWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Dumb Ass!!

On a different note...I like all sorts of racing, incl. NHRA, F1, LeMans, DTM, NASCAR...I got the competition and the kick...have attended several of the above events...and I am far from having a mullet and wearing flanel shirts...

Well, at least he's dumbass enough - or not enough, if you like - to be an Oakley Athlete.

And yes, I prefer him over any red F1 car or pilot with a funny accent.

Enough derailing and back to track: wish we could see more NASCAR on the Dutch tv.

Mopar has really stepped up into NOPI... It's the market Oakley is after... I assume it is only a matter of time before they go all out with the drifting and/or drag racing.... I'm guessing....

you can't see it in the pic above, but the Kasey Kahne sig has the nascar logo on the inside of the arm (left IIRC)... But it is the EXACT same frame as the Ducati model (same Gloss red Icon).

We sell a ton of them at work. We've got the Tony Stewart Valve too , which sells, but not as briskly.

Phil, when did you buy yours? We had an earlier Kahne edition that had Gloss icons, but no Nascar logo. I guess they changed the inside and I never noticed the Icon...
