will warranty replace my 1st gen plasma xx frame for a new one if it shows the wear. or will i be charged a fee? the rep on the phone today states that for $50 they will replace the lenses and evaluate the frame, if a material issue is found they will replace with a new frame. if the discoloration is from wear i may need to pay extra for the frame replacement. so my question is the 1st gen plasma discoloration considered wear or a material issue. i will just keep the 1st gen if i would need to pay as the marks are mostly unnoticeable

if you walk in they may make you buy new lenses to get the frames replaced if they have any of tat style and if they do they will replace it on the spot(if you buy a pair of lenses) now if you have a recipt of proof of purcase within the last year they will give you a new frame no questions asked.
hope that helped.

I believe the discoloration maybe a wear issue and I don't think that would be covered under warranty.

I believe the discoloration, despite being due to normal wear, is still a manufacture's fault, so it should be covered.

Why not call them up and ask? They'll give you a general idea of what the techs will and wont do, and set up a ticket for the repair.

they can do a tune up on the switch maybe, but they run like $50 to have done...They replace all the flex couplers and such and go through them...

Grommets. The little rubbery things that allow the nosebridge to flex... they wear over time, and need to be replaced every few years.

On your XX metal frames the warranty tech would probably charge you $180 for a new frame. The frames are very expensive and there low on parts. It is honestly the hardest one to be warranted at no cost or the $49 evaluation fee. For the loose Juliet’s its would be $49 to replace the flex couplers, but if you in need of a new lens you are able to buy new lenses and they would wave the $49 fee.
