Guys, has anybody tried replacing the leather covering of Mars? I have tried seaching on the old threads and the only thing that came up is leather being colored black. Will oakley replace the leather if I have this mars sent to them? Thanks.

Oakley will not replace the leather on a Mars. At best they'll shrug their shoulders and say "Would you like credit with that?"

But, yes people have attempted to make new coverings. Black and blue leather I've seen. Not as good as the original but hey....

That will be a big disappointment if Oakley will not change the leather covering of Mars, considering that x metals can last a long time and that they provide replacements on all the other parts (lens, screws, rubbers and even frame). Leather can easily be worn out and they don't provide replacement. I'm adamant on replacing the leather my self since it seem to be firmly glued to the frame. Maybe if one of you guys that have done it already, can give some handy tipds on this.

You forgot to read the fine print disclaimer "These glasses are not meant to be worn by anyone who sweats or has any facial oils of any kind. Doing so will void warranty & make them look all icky"
