aaand... the Japanese Kobayashi wins again, six times in a row! with a new World's Record at 53 3/4 Hot Dogs to boot. but that Joey Chestnut guy (at 52 Hot Dogs) gave him a run for his money, even being in the lead for quite a while.

so the Japanese wins again, but now the Americans have a serious competitor.

man, i dunno... Kobayahsi's fit as a horse. in fact, almost all of the competitive eaters at the contest today were of the fit and trim variety, hardly any burly big guys we're used to seeing at competitive eating contests.

the closest thing i've ever done to that is dismantle a 10-pak of tacos from taco bell - pretty easily - in about 30 minutes. that kobayashi dude is my hero.

You couldn't ask for anything more than to be a professional eater.

Yeah those guys (and girls) are competitive eaters. Which makes us...amateur eaters.

Well, I thought it was funny.

Mtv had a special on competitive eaters following an American and Kobayashi.

Kobayashi body builds as part of his training for competitive eating.

His whole program has a zen and Japanese logicality to it, eating carbs or proteins at different stages of trading meals.

As well he doesn't eat like that all the time.

I keep missing that show on MTV. Hopefully when I get cable again I can see a rerun of it.

Do you think they throw up after the competition is over? I cant imagine them actually digesting all of that.

It seems like Kobayashi is in no pain after the contest. It seems like a normal meal for him.

He noted that his stomach sits lower than most peoples stomachs and that allows for greater expansion in his lower abdomen.

I wish I could've been part of that evolution. Hopefully, my future kids will be evolved and they will have special mutant powers like a lower sitting stomach.
