Anyone else think these look oddly alike? Just change the arms to Twich styled ones and voila. I guess that's why the price point is so low. Not much R&D involved.

I have both but no. There are differences. Eye Patch has more base curve. Duncan has metal hinges and short arms, EP has the gascan "snap" plastic Oakley hinge.

they look close from the front, but still different. AFAIK, EyePatch is XYZ and Duncan (which came out a while back) is shield-based like the GasCan. Also, the molds have to be different to accomodate the Fox line's classic metal hinges.

edit: kev beat me to the hinges.

Oh yeah I completely agree that there are differences, i'm just saying they are pretty damn close. I agree about the XYZ thing though. Thats really the big diff IMO. Maybe Oakley saw that the Duncan was selling and decided to respond with their own version.

Duncan is a shield, but Eye Patch is two toric blanks. Same principle, but for EP the lens is two pieces, in Duncan it isn't.

In other pictures it seems to be a shield:

I have a Tortoise bronze pair of the FOX Duncan It has a Riddle like one piece lens... shield like if you prefer. end of story.

the Eyepatch looks similar from the front, but is not a morphed off version of the Duncan.

Oops. I feel retarded. Thanks for the correction. It is more like a Riddle then. It even has the metal hinges like a Riddle. The pic I happened to look at is decieving then. I should have done more research.

At least this debate was much better than an O CS rep who claimed last summer that Duncan was Riddle and Dean was Gascan. Indentical, just rebranded. "That's why we created a new square icon, because Fox's logo is square."

There's def similarities though.
