Just thought I would throw this one out there to see if anyone knows.

Does anyone know a good way to polish out scratches on a stealth Timebomb or other model?

Also, does anyone know if Oakley provides a polishing service and how much they would charge?

Thanks in advance.

I just got back from HQ and they told me to buy new parts if you wanted anything polished basically. I think the coating may come off in the areas if polished too hard, but I wouldn't want to try and find out either...Good luck

When I sent my stealth TB to oakley UK, they said it was the only finish that could not be polished. Replacement links £7 each

Thanks guys,

I tend to beat the heck out of my watches, so I just wanted to know whether keeping it tip-top would even be an option. I guess I should just not worry about scratches then. I appreciate the info.

How much is it to have a new clasp put on? Mine looks abused.

I think the whole bracelet was like $90, but I may be wrong

I asked the very same question a while back re a polished TB. Check out the response from Pyro:

Not sure what the same process might do to the stealth black finish though.

Too bad I've scratched up the glass on my TB since then.....

That is what I was mentioning about polishing the plating off. The other watch was polished to start, so it had no color coating. I had a polished titanium timebomb prior to the stealth one I have now, and it scratched all the time, that's why I sold it off. Every single time I wore it that was a problem. Any time something is "plated" you run a serious risk of buffing off the plated coating. Try a penny, something from the 60's forward (actually earlier, but the 60's and up are easier to get) and polish it with a dremel for a bit. It will eventually wear off the copper plating to reveal a silver slug underneath...
