I had my Wardens in the bag and was walking with them in my dorm and some d-bag knocked into me and I dropped them...

And to no surprise...the lense popped out...

What should I do? I see that there is a place to unscrew and such, but I dont have a screwdriver that small.

Also, from what I heard about Crosshairs, doesnt the lens pop out for frequently now that theyve popped out once now?

Thanks in advance guys.

What I heard in regards to the XHair is that it was a flaw on earlier pairs the caused the lens to pop out. I've even removed and replaced mine with no adverse affects. As per the Warden, try not to bend the lenses orbital in the meantime and grab a tiny screw driver set, or take it to SGH or even pop it back in. FYI though, even my first Warden (purchased upon release) arrived with popped out lenses and they wouldn't stay. Hoping that was a problem similar to that of the Xhair. No problems with my current pair.

i heard it only happens to the first generation crosshair
anyway , i was actually considering a warden for a fashion eyewear last time and luckily i picked dartboard instead.

hmm... i have the first generation (non-trigger earstems) Warden and i never had lenses popping out on me. they do creak a bit when i put them on/off, but no lens problems.

Justin, like Phil suggested, take it to a local SGH or even Lens Crafters and they should be able to put the lenses back in. Lens Crafters are good because they'll adjust and/or fix small problems on any frames even if you didn't purchase from them.

as for a small screwdriver, you can pick up a eyeglass screwdriver kit at any pharmacy.

If it's an option. OPDs, prob not unless they're all sunglasses or have a sunglass specialty shop inside to do repairs and adjustments.

It's not difficult to put it back in yourself. IMHO (I am, like Phil an eyewear "professional"), it's something you should know how to do if you plan on owning wire frames.

Once the lens has popped out once, it will do it again because the bevel on the edge weakens each time the lens is forced out.

Get an optical screwdriver (opticians, sunglass stores, and pharmacies all carry them), remove the lens screw (do it over a flat cushion or something else that the screw won't move around on if dropped, because if it gets on the floor you'll never find it), and pull down gently on the bottom of the orbital.

Make sure the edge of the lens is sitting inside the channel in the orbital before you reinsert the screw. Once you've tightened it, grab the lens and wiggle it gently to make sure it's seated firmly.

Then go beat down the jackass who made you drop them in the first place.

That's good advice. I routinely repair and do maintenance on fishing reels that are loaded with small screws and springs. Here's a tip in case you do drop that small screw: If you turn on a flashlight and lay it on the ground so that the light shines almost parallel to the floor, anything in the light's path will cast a big enough shadow to be easily seen.

Thanks guys. I already am giving the kid shit. Im like "You wanna pay for the repains on these when I send them back into Oakley" and stuff...Im not sure if its worth the hassle though. He's a little baby that daddy has taken care of his whole life.
