for those Wiretap owners out there... what's the colour of your icons? i bought a pair of Pewter/+Red Iridium Wiretap recently and noticed they came with red icons, while the photo on Oakley's site shows them as silver. what icons do you have?

My Wiretaps, pewter/+Red had red icons seated in the little Icon bubble that most icons sit in. I have noticed newer Wiretaps to have the icon directly on the flat hammer portion of the earstem.

Does it have to do with the Wiretap generations? (Here's one for the generations thread too)

The ones depicted on oakleydotcom have the wings pointing straight down and were the 1st gen. A very short while later (three or four months maybe) the 2nd gen. came out with the wings sticking out at the sides. I would guess that the Red Icon is for the 2nd gen.

Mine were 1st Gen with the fat earsocks and a Red Icon.

Top photo is from Oakleys site, with slim earsocks though 1st Gen earstems.



Bottom photo is a newer pair from ebay. 2nd Gen. I have even seen the fire lens with goldenrod earsocks in stores.
