I just saw some new nose bombs (2nd generation) on the new zeros. They have eliminated the arch portion that goes onto the frame, and have made 2 separate rounder ones that snap into the same place as the older ones.

The fit is much nicer. Gives you a closer fit, then the old way of setting on top of your nose.

Plus, you now see the lens edge in the middle, that you couldnt see before. Which is a different look.

My local OPD is swapping them out for me tomorrow, and letting me keep my old ones.

Exactly the same; they just sent out the two piece nosepads to replace the one piece ones on existing stock.

If you buy Zero now, it'll come with both the old nosepiece and the two new bombs, right?

I got a pair from Oakley UK last week and they didn't come with the 2nd low profile nosebombs, just the old style single bomb.

I called an O-Store yesterday, and they said they didn't sell them alone.

Also, I believe the nosebombs will take a while to filter out, mainly because most stores don't sell enough of their original shipments of Zeros to get "refills."

Odd.

We got a directive saying we had to replace the nosebombs on all current stock with the new ones and give the customer the old one too when they bought a pair.

I assumed OPDs and O-stores would have gotten the same directive.

Neil, of all the Oakley-owned stores I've been to in FL, the one in Downtown Disney has been the one with the best staff, followed by the Tampa O-Store. You guys seem to have a grip on things.

But, I tried on the new bombs at a Miami O-Store today (the SoBe one is now listed on the Oakley Website, so I might have to trek out to the beach this week), and they fit great. Might have to buy some New Zeros. But I asked if they could get the nosepiece by itself and got a NO. Same from CS, who didn't know what I was talking about, and couldn't find it in the computer.

I just swapped all 3 pairs of mine out with the new ones. They fit nice. They seem to move the frames closer to your face for a more closer fit. You need to make sure they are on. I used a small screwdiver to press the center piece in more where it clamps. Otherwise, they might not last long on. Nicer design, and they let you see more of the frameless lense.

We're not giving away the nosebombs by themselves either, although I can get as many pairs sent to the store as I like.

When did you come in, Brian? (or did we already have this conversation?)

I was there over spring break, my GF and I took a weekend to drive down from G'Ville to go to the parks.
The beaches were too cold and too crowded.

Just depends on who you know. Its silly to have these small, very cheap plastic parts, and not give them away to past owners of Zeros. After all, how many of these could they of possibly sold??

Oakley is being a bit stingy on this, I think.

Call Customer Service and they'll give you them for free if not for a low charge. Or if you're in the area go get a pair in the lobby repair shop.
