Those are the 2004 Ichiro's i believe, and it's not violet, it's plain old Blue Iridium. Oakley's usual photoshopping exaggerates the violet tint. We had a post earlier about those, I wish they really had a lens that was violet with blue tint. The closest i've seen is VR28 Blue Iridium, but i've never seen the violet iridium, anyone know what those look like?

There was also a Violet non Iridium lens on one of the earlier pairs of Minutes with Purple frame. Similar to Light Blue but violet colored instead

i actually know a guy who has that pair of minutes(i guess he really likes purple). He shops at the liquor store i work at. I should ask him if i can try on his glasses one of these days.

I like those 2004 Ichiros. Maybe its just the oakley photoshopping but with the blue iridium lens they seem to have a lot more character than the old slate lens.

Violet Iridium was the first Oakley lens I wore, in the original Frogskin. It's a Grey based lenses and the iridium isn't too thick of a coating. Solid at some angles and slight see through from the outside at other angles. It was a nice lens.

I just looked at those Ichiro's, it's OO Blue Iridium which was a clearer more violet blue.

Is there an actual difference between Blue Iridium and OO Blue Iridium? I mean what's the OO designation for?

There is a huge difference between Blue Iridium and OO Blue Iridium. The later being designed with the release of the OO's and was later used again for the Ichiro Sig series. Regular Blue Iridium is an older lens which isn't used anymore but you can still get for the M-Frame. Blue Iridium has more of a amber base while the OO Blue is more of a grey base and is darker.
