Fall 2004 Apparel, Fall Footwear and Hatchet are now up at Oakley.com go check it out.

Also, Interestingly they're selling limited quantities of older frame styles, such as Scar, Eye Jacket 3.0, Four S, etc..

the Mars too is in limited quanities. Guess they just need to get rid of them now that they discontinued that line. They should at least discount them a bit. Nice to see that Hatchet finally on the website :)

Yeah I find it pretty funny that they will never discount anything on the website even if its discontinued.

Nice to finally see some updates to the Sunglasses section. Let's hope they continue to improve the site and make it easier to find stuff.

Hmm, going to have to hit up some people for christmas presents if I'm going to get that mars now.

New footwear has been updated in the database. I started on Apparel, but that's looking to be a huge task. What a pain.

I have a problem with their website. In todays world of BUYING over the net, Oakley does NOT have all their products listed on their site. Its terrible! I would think that they would get the new pieces up before they are released, which DOES, sometimes happen, however rarely.

I would think if they did this they would see an increase in all sales outlets!

Seems to only happen during Q1 for Q2 releases. The rest of the year things just sort of 'appear'.

The head of the oakley website actually gave me a call the other day asking how I got so much info on the company. That's a comforting thought......

I'm no marketing guru, but I suspect that Oakley can sell more if they delay releasing things on the webpage - there's no point releasing the Romeo 2.0 if it is going to cut into existing Romeo sales, for example. Exhaust demand for the current stuff before new things are released.

I guess, but if a product is out in some places before the website shows it, that's a bit annoying.

Men's Pants/Shorts/Long and Short sleeve shirts all updated.

You wouldn't beleive just how much stuff is never made public on the website. Even in Oakley's own retail stores its a joke. The employee store in Foothill Ranch easily has 3 times more apparel than any O-store, not to mention you can buy any pair of eyewear even discontinued.

Okay - can anyone figure out the measurements Oakley.com gives for frame and lens sizes?

Unknown height: 5.4cm
Monster Dog height 4.5 cm
Huh?

Valve Lens Size: 3.7cm
Five 2.0 Lens Size 4.3cm
Monster Doggle Lens Size: 4.3cm
Plate Lens Size: 5.7cm
Huh again? The Valve is smaller than the Five 2.0 by 0.6cm and the Plate is 1.4cm bigger than the Monster Doggle? Yeah right. I could provide more examples, but what's the deal? Can anyone even figure out these measurements to tell if most are right and I'm just noticing the typos by chance?

Dann,
Who contacted you? I made sure that the right people got ahold of this site to spread the word to know that we are our own little R&D or test market. Hope he wasnt upset!

Okay - Halo is now renamed Haylon. Go figure. (It's not just a typo, the image on the Halo/Haylon page reads 'Haylon'). Did a search for 'halo', nothing came up.

Huh?

(I do remember the Wiretap was going to be the Haywire, which makes sense - if you have someone with an accent placing a phone order, are they asking for A-Wire or Haywire?)

But they changed Halo? Weird.

EastCoast, where did you see Haylon? I don't see anything at all. If I click on Halo from the View All Sunglasses page, I get nothing. I wonder what caused the name change.

Here's the haylon link.

That's an odd one...Anyone here know more about name changes to certain oakley models?

Haywire > Wiretap

New Minute > Blender > Unknown

Aviata > Warden

Zero 0.1 > Zero

I don't know about anyone else, but the fist thing that comes to mind when I hear "Halo" is the videogame. As far as this being the reason for the change, it's doubtful. Though I do think the Haylon has a more Oakley feel to it than Halo.

All of the name changes I heard about while working at Oakley were due to copyright and trademark infrigements. It may be that someone else had used the name Halo and Oakley just realized it (or was getting sued). This was what happened with Wiretap (Haywire/Tripwire) and the Flesh shoe. (which was renamed Bottlecap Flesh)

i agree with you. when i first see the name Halo on Oakley's site, first thing come in mind was the videogame. and also agree with you on the new name which has more Oakley feel to it.
