nice one pander, I used that technique for the other rubies I've made, then came across a method using Corel photopaint (its a preference thing but I prefer it to photoshop) I lay down an orange colour first in the lens shape then clone the shape and render it using a red light source with ambient purple (to get that subtle purpley/red play in the colour) then feather the edges so it fades out to the orange lens underneath to represent the colour gradients you get with the real thing, I'm working on perfecting it though
I use Photoshop to do all those things... I just select the entire lens and play a little with the contrast and the color adjustments and color balance (shadows, midtones and highlights) until I get the preferred color I want, that way the nosepads will stay there and also get the same color effects.
its a shame they cant make lenses THAT red its looks better than ruby imho and works especially well with the carbon frames, have a look on the thread for the romeo2's I made, they look nice with that shade red
ooooh thought I'd take my cue from panders excellent carbon romeo idea and this looks mean...my "black ops" pennys with some lens etching too for good measure
There was a M-frame customised for use in operating rooms. Those were normal M-frames with a clear lens and a magnifying glass suspended on the nosebridge...
Perosnally, I love the Penny over any other model. And not just because it was my first pair. I think it embodies everything Oakley was, before the Lifestyle change.
