Hey Banderso, welcome to the O-Review! In reference to your issue about the FMJ frame that you scratched slightly, there isn't much you can do take those scratches out from what I know. The FMJ has always been a very "sensitive" material in the sense that it scratches easy and flakes even easier.

I have however heard of places out there that will indeed dip or refinish a frame for you. I am not sure of getting the exact FMJ look that you have, but I have seen a lot of work from Dr. Chop and he does some pretty amazing things, including the FMJ look. If I were you I would try to reach out to him possibly and see if there is anything he may be able to help with.

http://www.drchopshop.com/ is his site and there is a contact section on there.

Good luck with it and I hope that helps a little bit.

Thanks for all the shout outs and 'welcomes"....especially Randy! Thanks for passing along some info on Dr. Chop. I will look into it for sure!

Second question: any recommendations when the "Oakley" insignia across the eye piece does become worn and you would just like to remove the whole lable?? the glasses in question are half jackets, glossy black.

Thanks for the help!

I had this issue on a Splice (same vintage really) and a thumbnail worked well. Didn't really even need anything to loosen it up.
