This could be really exciting if they really do intend to share design and innovation rather than simply replacing the Ducati logo with a Ferrari one. Imagine a pair with design cues modelled off a LaFerrari...

So, just sunnies? Or Oakley the official team wear?

I would be surprised if they did anything other than glasses. Teams/brands like that have licenses with other companies. That's probably why we didn't see other Ducati gear on the market other than glasses, so I expect we'll see the some thing with Ferrari.

Believe Ducati is out, and Ferrari is filling that same gap. About it

i just hope they use red frames more as i find all black with a red icon a little boring which is why i felt my prayers had been answered with the Ducati pit boss!

I wonder if they would do a Dispatch II, as Kimi is a big Dispatch wearer.

I've had a chance to check this whole collection and it's looking really good. Lots of Carbon Fiber as you'd imagine. It's going to be a R2 and R3 release so April you'll be able to buy it.

Please no pictures, as much as it would be cool. Ferrari is not thrilled about the amount of info out already.

R2 has already been out and disco'd. Can't imagine anything cool coming out of it other than Carbon Fiber being used. Just doesn't intrigue me as Ferrari is fairly bland on it's own as opposed to the others. More exotic material use though, that could open the door for creativity.

What's wrong with carbon fiber? How many frames have Oakley had in the wonder stuff?

Nothing wrong with CF, if it isn't some lame frame like a Jupiter or Holbrook. Make an aggressive frame with attitude when using a crazy material.

CF is the new fad material for the current decade, but it's hard to obtain the sculptural art expected of Oakley at the expected price level with it. I look forward to what Oakley design combined with Lux's production capability can do, but it is a difficult material to bend to your will. I expect titanium to remain my favourite material since so much good stuff has been done with it.

it isn't difficult at all. Lamborghini vacuum molds their sculpted dashes in CF, so no reason Oakley couldn't do the same. May take layers, but it is possible. If they can ass rape for flat CF, then it should be easy for them to do so in sculpted CF haha...Just saying

Lambo's parts are also crazy expensive, which goes back to the sculptural art and pricing balance mentioned above. Lambo's pieces are also very large, not with miniscule details like a smaller item like eyewear would have. If Oakley uses the same expensive pre-preg CF and takes the time to mold it into some complicated piece, it's no doubt gonna be more difficult to make and cost a bit. That said, I'm looking forward to what a $450-600 full CF piece will look like and how complicated they can get it for that range. Should be interesting since the Jupiter Carbon polarized are already $330, so what a couple hundred could add to a full CF frame is curious.

im worried where these prices are going. I dont know about the rest of you but when i started collecting all those years ago i thought the prices of X-metals were ridiculous and wondered who the hell would pay that much for glasses and it was kind of true as i NEVER saw any members of the public wearing one. that said i now own many many pairs of them but i still think the original retail was very expensive at the time. now im sure all of us would happily pay retail and more for a new pair of juliets or romeos but now Jupiter carbons are more expensive than a pair of juliets WERE and im sure if Jupiter carbons came out in the same era they would cost like 120 bucks at the most.

The Jupiter Carbons are one of those anomalies where no one really knows why they're more expensive than the nearest comparable product (in this case, the JFL), much like how we initially didn't know why the R2 was more expensive than the other comparable X-metals (yet with much less frame). Would love to see the cost elements, but of course that'll never happen.

It was just the two face, style switch and another current release. Im fairly sure that the carbon blade is under lock down until they unveil it
