Hi all,
Digging through my files and I've found a few items that may be of interest. I didn't want to produce a separate thread for each one considering some may not merit or receive discussion. Dann - if things get out of hand maybe lock this thread and separate the discussions (but I'd say you'd think of that anyway).

Here we go:

Got this picture on eBay awhile ago. Apparently for sale at the 'Rolling O Store'. Not impressed, looks like a cash-in to me (though I would like to know the SKU#, if anyone can help).

You see here a Pro M Frame, two lenses and case; Emerald Straight Jacket and a Polished Vault; some Gold-plated E-Wires; and Romeo+Huge Vault. I believe these massive Vaults were given to Olympic athletes and had their names engraved in very tiny type. This was also sold on eBay way back.

A very nice casual shoe, also available in Black, but never showed on the website. First incarnation of the Stick.

These are very nice. The Paint basketball shoe, released shortly after the Blender, Anti-Sole, Snake Belly etc. By far the nicest of the lot yet never saw wide release.

And finally, another eBay offering, this time a weird lens. Looks like G30 Persimmon (but not quite); like High Intensity Persimmon (but not quite). This was called the Unfair Advantage lens, given by Oakley to sponsored sharpshooters and others with connections. Is it really a unique lens tint or was the eBay seller misleading us? You decide.

E.C.

I believe that lens is a G26 lens which is finely tuned for shooters.

See - that's what I figured, but I think that the G26 has a lot more mirror, so that it's almost green and opaque. Now, I've never seen one in the flesh, so I could be wrong.

that does look a lot like a g26 lens. its hard to tell with the flash of the camera which is throwing me off but that would be my best guess.

I also heard those large vaults held low serial # X-Metals. Which of course could also be athlete promos since they get stuff first.

And on the photoshopping subject, doesn't G26 show up as bright green on the website.

Yeah but a lot of lenses on the website seem to look a bit off from the real thing. The g26 has a lot of different colors going on if you see it in person.

I would just die for someone to poste a picture of the old Oakley "blades". When I was a skier back in grade 9, one of my friends got a pair of Oakley blades with a multicolour iridium lens. Almost like an M - frame...but much more rectangular.

Anyone?

heh, you know i didn't even notice that. Yeah that's pretty bad, and he lists pretty much every other continent at the bottom. Perhaps he had an experience in Canada like Homer did in New York.

lol, I don't mind him not willing to ship to Canada, but adding that remark just isn't warranted in my opinion :/

If you're looking for the old stuff, there's a seller on eBay: dragonsharkchi. He has the Eyeshades, Blades, 1st and 2nd generation M Frames, Mumbos, Zeros and Sub Zeros, etc.

HOWEVER - he just received two negative feedback posts - apparently he can't be reached. His website, www.dragonsharkchi.com used to sell a lot more too, but it's currently down. Where'd he go?

So basically I'm telling you there used to be a place to get this stuff - I know, no help.

If you really want the classic stuff, just keep an eye out on eBay and for his webpage and see if he surfaces again.

Don't know if anyone is still interested, but 'dragonsharkchi' is back on the go, at least on eBay.

http://stores.ebay.com/DragonSharkChi

It's probably worth e-mailing him if you don't see what you want (his website had all sorts of stuff, including Sub Zeros).

Hey all. I'm a new member as of today 9/8. I'm so happy I found this site. I tracked that multiple glasses auction on ebay (pictured above) The romeos had a claimed SN# of 00004 & if I'm not mistaken, They also claimed the e-wires were made of gold, not just gold plate. At $5000 auction price I seen it run twice with no takers. I played the lottery every day I could! What a lost opportunity. It was close to that same time that a guy ran a 24k timebomb for $15,000

E.C. Did you ever get anymore info on those Nitro-mater straights? Or did you bid on them?

Info on the Cannon Nitro-Mater Jackets? No luck. Like I said, the guy had that crummy picture and if I remember correctly, about as much text as I put in there.

Didn't bid, the Straight Jackets don't suit me and the frame wasn't my style.

I'm sort of surprised they haven't popped up anywhere else.

Hmm, so I was right about the large vaults housing low serial number X-Metals. Way too much money for a collectors piece like that.

The Nitro Matter Straights are real similar to the Blood Skull glasses in how the image is positioned on the frame. They are about 2 to 3 years old now. That's probably when this would have shown up. The "Rolling O Store" traveled with Scotty Cannon to all the NHRA races and sold items like this. Probably made in low numbers and exclusive to the Rolling O.

Do any of you know the history or the significance of the nitro-methane breathing tomato (nitro-mater)?

In my perpetual habit of digging up old threads:

I found another shot of the G26:

To me looks way different than the lens above. I know that the angle, lighting, etc. can all contribute greatly, but even the base seems a different colour. Strange.

Square Wire 2.0 30mm
Frame: Dark
Lenses: Black Iridium

in comparison with the Square Wire 2.0 Spring Hinge and Big Square Wire

Very rare - although I remember Elijah saying it was produced for Australia since they have a minimum lens height regulation.

I have a .pdf of an official Oakley dealer list (with glasses, SKUs, and prices) and the 30mm was there so I expect it could have been available anywhere. Maybe the list I have is Australian too - I'll have to check.

Came in three versions AFAIK, Silver (or Light or whatever)/Ice, Carbon (or Dark or whatever)/Black Iridium, and Platinum/Gold Iridium.

I like it more than the Square Wire 'cause of my fat melon - they should re-release it with Spring Hinges (and the leather wrap). Not likely with the BgSqWire around, I guess.

As usual, pics to come (I always say that cause I post at work - heh, only on lunch hour, honest - and my files are on my home PC - then I get home and forget to post 'em. Oops.)

Update 21/10/04
I said it, I did it:

05-825 Silver - Ice

05-826 Platinum - Gold Iridium

05-827 Dark Carbon - Black Iridium

Oh - so they're copyright. Is that a big deal or what?
