I have a pair of Blades and Razor Blades and wanted to swap lens from one to the other. I used the M Frame lens changing technique of pulling the nosepiece section of the lens away from the middle of the frame. I eventually got the Blade lens out after a long hassle, however the Razor Blade lens is not coming out no matter what I do. I pulled on it for 30 minutes and it wouldn't budge. I even tried heating up the frame and that didn't do anything. What other suggestions do you have on getting the lens out?

Due to the age of the lenses, I would not recommend changing them. Doing so will probably leave microscopic "cracks" in the lens resulting in distortion of light while wearing them.

But if you're intent on changing the lenses you'll probably want to use the "Half Jacket" method of removing them: place the palm of your hand over the bottom of the lens (edge), top of your fingers over the frame, opposite thumb (of your other hand) underneath the hinge, index fingers of the same hand on top of the hinge/earstem, and flex the frame. The lens should pop out.

At least that's how I remember changing 'em back in the day.

I wouldnt recommend this as well. Its not worth the risk of regrettable damage. Id be happy with what ive got. I too was recommended to not change lenses when i got mine also, so i hope that helps. Glad you didnt break them though. They can become brittle over time.

I've had bad experiences trying that out too... Also had problems the other way round... to put the lens back in...

Somehow all lenses and frame does not ALWAYS connect to each other... like a half millimeter difference and it does not work.

I also learnt to be happy with how these oldies are and leave them like that.

I think M Frame are somehow easier to change the lenses... but not always either.

Hope that helps.
