Dear guys, I need help here.
I have problem with polarized lens, and I had bought the pit boss.
When I check with my local O-distributor here in Malaysia. They cant help me to get a non-Polarized replacement lens.

Can anyone suggest what should I do if I want a Oakley Black Iridium pit boss replacement lens.

Thanks!

Don't think there's any non polarized lens for pitboss, they only produce polarized lens for pitboss ...

Split Jacket/Wind Jacket lenses are almost identical to Pit Boss. The only difference I could see is the upper inside corner (just slightly less sharp for Split/Wind Jacket, so it still fits in the Pit Boss frame). That's what I used in mine.

Eddy, did you have to trim the SJ/WJ lens to fit in the PB frame?

@JF: go here http://www.facebook.com/pages/DrChops-Chop-Shop/302052839806409 and ask Josh (Dr.Chop) for a pair in your favorite color, he will do. He made a brilliant job on many Pit Boss custom cut lenses recently.

No, the corner of the SJ/WJ lens was ever so slightly more rounded than the PB, so it is actually smaller in that corner (about 1mm). It is virtually identical everywhere else. I can't even tell the difference when the lens is in the frame... no gaps at that corner.

That's really cool eddy, do i pop the PB lens out like any other o matter frames or are there any special steps i need to look out for ?

That is really bad on the optics to sandwich the lens in like that. I tried to snap in a Split lens into my boss and it wasn't a fit made in heaven. If you are looking for purely a display, go for it, but if you plan to wear them, **Proceed At Your Own Risk**

Yeah, I can gladly cut some for you and they will fit as they should. I know when I can save a buck, I am all for it, but not at the expense of anyone's potential vision or well being.

No sandwiching... I wouldn't have done it if that was the case. Take a PB lens and hold it on top of a SJ/WJ lens, and you'll see what I mean. They are practically the same lens other than the one corner, which again is less sharp, so I was actually afraid I'd see a gap.

Optics don't appear to be the least bit compromised. Since I can't wear polarized lenses, this was a quick and easy way to make it so I could actually wear my PB.

Of course, if you want a color that is not available for SJ/WJ, a chopped set is the only other option.

trust me, I mess with enough of these to know, when it is bigger, it is sandwiched. You may think 1mm - 1.5mm isn't much, but it is. Especially because exactly what I am talking about occurs. When the lens is too large to fit be it 1mm or 5mm, what happens is the lens is bent or flexed to fit in since you are essentially "forcing" it to fit. When that happens, it transfers that flex across the lens in different areas depending on the stress point, which in turn distorts the natural optics of that lens. Any bend will introduce a level of distortion when it isn't meant to be there.

I was cutting some polar juliet lenses once and had that happen, and that is how I figured it out. They fit, but were tighter by a bit more than they should have been. When I was tightening the screw down on the one side, I was in front of my LCD monitor and noticed the rainbow looking waves changing as I tightened or loosened the screw. So I can tell you, there is an effect.
