Was looking through latest one icon magazine on ipad ad there was article on how oakley and MLB got in business. Theres talk with how Tony Gwynn went to oakley wanting beter sunglasses talk of the hammer stems but then there was mention on straight stem to wear under the batting helmet. A couple of old pics you can see him wearing them and they look like sub-zero arms on a lens, can't really see the frame. Nice read but first pictures ive seen of them and i had ton of baseball cards with players wearing them but never seen these, has anyone else?

The Straight stem earpieces were going to be the original Mumbo design, until a certain guy called Jim tryed them on and didnt like the look or fit, so he decided to bend out the earpieces to create the hammer earpieces that were evenually used.

Then when the baseball athletes needed straight stems to slide under there helmets, the straight stem mould was eventually used.

Lee the pictures dont look like there is any frame to it, it's the subzero style arms down to the logo on the arms an attachment to the lens. Probably where the idea for the subzero came from.

If you look at the patent images, the straight stem was initially submitted as well.

I have no idea how much O is in the rest of this video because I didn't watch it, but there is a slightly larger image of the Chris Boardman photo posted above.
