Do they actually customize icons in that store? I know my local O Store can only customize the lenses. You have to go with whatever preset icon is in the frame.

As far as I understand it there are not any stores doing custom icons as of yet, all the frames have the icons applied at HQ durring production so I am sure once they start offering custom icons in stores it will spread quickly to keep from having frames with and without icons in the system.

Your local O-Store can also order them for you with the icon of your choice. Same turn around time as on line, in person customer service, and it keeps your money in the local economy.

Hit up Oakley Times Square this weekend... not overly impressed. The amount NYC exclusive clothing was cool, but the store itself feels among one of the smallest I've been in. I really miss the presentation appeal of the large display cases as opposed to the open sell walls. I am really starting to get turned off by the amount of products or selection that isn't showing up in stores. Custom glasses was definitely a big deal there for the space dedicated to their custom bar. I asked for jawbone earsocks though and they were out of stock. How can you customize a Jawbone if you have no earsocks? I did leave with an NYC hoodie and nyc skyline tee. The only saving grace was I was recognized by an employee as one of the Co-Pilots which led to a few conversations about the company and what I've seen compared to what they've seen or done so far.

Ya, I've heard from a lot of people the store is relative small. They must really be pushing the customizing. I don't understand why it takes so long for the stores to get the new products in stock. They know when they're releasing them, you'd think they'd ship to the retail stores before the release date so they'd be available. My O Store still doesn't have the FMJ Chrome Fast Jacket which I want to see in person.

I didn't see chrome, but try the White/OO Red FJs there. I may have broke the switchlock mech trying to test them out. It really wasn't a smooth release. They're nice, but I'm glad I went with a Jawbone instead. They had Jupiter Fuel Cells and Jawbones, but no Skins or Holbrooks. Still had a STPL Radar, but nothing else. Yeah, they def push the custom there, but if I don't get my choice of icon colors or earsocks, I am not interested. No Eye Patch 2 either. Wasn't that supposed to be a May 15 release?

The Eyepatch 2 was pushed to mid June or July 1.

I finally made way to the Times Square store this weekend, and its far from being what would be considered a flagship store. Positive notables about the store include the factory pilot seats which I'm guessing are the same variety as those at headquarters..perhaps they were at headquarters?? They also had an aluminum C-six, which I tried on and loved...not allowed to purchase though by my wifee :) . NYC unique apparel is pretty cool, and thats what I ended up picking up. The staff are very very friendly and cool, and fit the O profile to represent what old O used to stand for. Great store, but pretty tiny. Not sure if I'd make it a priority to visit it everytime going into NYC, if I'm there for sight seeing.
