Family: Eyewear

I got some these as XLJ in my Flak Jacket frames. They are are indeed very good lenses, I would buy them anytime again!

And actually I did: over the last 5 years I'm on my fourth(!) pair now ... two pairs of sunglasses got stolen during holidays, one got lost during moving to a new flat.

Looks:
These lenses have a dark amber/bronze base, and a blue iridium coating from outside (greenish-blue hues in the middle, more violet hues at the edges). Definitely interesting colour mix, but your eyes will be visible from outside on a sunny day.

Performance:
Looking from inside the world will be dipped in an orange-amber tint, glare is cut out effectively, contrast is enhanced quite a bit, sharpness increases, things "pop out". The 20% light transmission means they are useful in most weather conditions, except maybe for very bright sunny days.
Although advertised as fishing specific lenses I use them for most every day activities. They might not every body's lenses, as they are high contrast lenses and distort colours a bit, but they are not too distracting and I can wear them for hours.

The Shallow Blue Polarized lenses have actually a similar lens tint to the (also great) Tungsten Iridium Polarized lenses! But the latter have a slightly lower light transmission of 15% and thus appear a wee bit darker.

These are my 2nd favorite Oakley lenses beside the OO Black Iridium Polarized and the Tungsten Iridium Polarized. 5 skulls without hesitation!

I have Black Iridium in Flak and some half jacket transitions that I use for driving and other Misc activities I am looking for another fishing option... use Ice Iridium polarized prescription in Juliet for open water fishing and a have a pair of MJ Hoopika readers in their "Bronze" for inland what I am looking for is a lower light option, is the shallow blue duplicating the condition set that the MJ Bronze is handling and I need to go with something lighter or will the shallow blue fit this spot, If not I cant really seem to find anything in polarized for my half or Flaks, any thoughts that are lighter than the shallow blue in the contrast catagory?

O changed the base on this lens from neutral to an orange-ish hue not long after releasing them. The orange tint seems to have higher light transmission and your eyes are easy to see through them from a viewer's perspective. So 4 stars for the new orange tint. I liked the neutral better.
TERRORISM -
Although the blue hue in this lens looks amazing, it appears that the base color detracts from the aesthetics and also allows others to see the wearer's eyes easier. In short, Deep Blue Polarized seems a much better choice.

I found my new favorite lens. I got these with the hydrophobic coating on the NSW for working around water, and it helps a lot. The tint is just a hair lighter than Deep Blue so the lens is more versatile over more lighting conditions. And the slightly purplish hue, probably because this uses blue iridium instead of ice, gets lots of compliments from others. I put my ice lenses away and that's where they'll stay for a while. 5 stars.
