You know the drill — you find shades that seem perfect for you, you try them on, and then you wonder who’s behind the international conspiracy to make sunglasses fit only giant faces. Most manufacturers have a one-size-fits-all mentality. Not Oakley. Our MINUTE® eyewear is specifically designed for small to medium size faces, and version 2.0 gives you the comfort, protection and performance of the best eyewear on the planet.

MINUTE® 2.0 uses the patented innovations of HIGH DEFINITION OPTICS® (HDO®) to beat all standards of ANSI Z87.1, the industry’s yardstick for optical precision. Even the world’s best lenses can’t perform if they’re covered with oily smears and water sheens, so we added a permanent coating called Oakley HYDROPHOBIC™ to repel rain, sweat, skin oils and dust.

The pure PLUTONITE® lenses filter out 100% of all UV, not just UVA and UVB. Impact resistance meets all standards of ANSI Z87.1, so if a car tire kicks up a pebble while you’re biking along the roadside, or if the tip of a ski menaces your face on the slope, you’ll have impact protection that exceeds the demands of pro athletes. You’ll also have the all-day comfort of lightweight O MATTER® frame material and a Three-Point Fit that uses supple UNOBTAINIUM® components to increase grip with perspiration.

If you’re tired of frames that stick out at the sides or slide off at the worst possible moment, go with a design that fits your anatomy like it fits your lifestyle. MINUTE® 2.0 is available with a range of options including IRIDIUM® lens coatings that balance light and reduce glare, lenses ACTIVATED BY TRANSITIONS® to darken in response to light, and even the best polarized lenses on earth. If you need corrective optics, this frame can be fitted with Oakley prescription lenses.

I lost my original minutes, back in 2006, from a car accident. I've had various pairs after but always missed the Minutes. Since I've become part of the SI program, I figured I'd pick these up. They look a lot bigger and bulkier than they really are. These are my "active" work glasses (firefighting/inspecting). I don't take them in fires with me, though. Anyway, the lenses are good at blocking out light and have the hydrophobic coating. The SI frame is basic and not flashy (which I like). I have a smaller face so it fits mine pretty darn well. The unobtanium doesn't disappoint---works just like it's supposed to. I thought the lugs were unobtanium but they're not. Still, the "O" icon on the sides lets everyone know you're wearing the best damn eye wear out there

Frame: Matte black(USStandard issue) and cinder red
Lens: Polarized grey (per above) and black iridium

I am active duty and needed a pair to replace my XXs (which have been to hell and back). I actually wanted to replace the XX lenses but SI doesnt carry that and oakley sells the lenses for 50-75 bucks

Well, I instead got the minutes 2.0, they are very similar to the XXs except they are a tad smaller and there are no nosebombs. During my workouts, the nosepieces are slippery, this did not happen with my XXs(-1 star). I use flaks during my runs instead

Within 1 week tho, the lens got scratched as I was throwing them in and out of my flight suit (filled with zippers) and failed to put them in protective case

Also got a pair of the cinder red/black iridium for 40 bucks at the oakley vault. I love the color, looks almost black unless you are in the sunlight, then it turns into a nice darker candy apple red.

Frame: Metallic Black
Lens: Black Iridium Polarized

I have a smaller profile and the Minute 2.0 live up to their reputation for such noggins. The fit is very similar to the Monster Pup, except the Minute 2.0 adds the use of Unobtainium for a much better seating. Although the styling of the frame is not my favorite, I still find myself reaching for my Minute 2.0s when I want a sports pair that I know won't fall off my head.

I also really enjoy the Metallic Black frame. It looks much better in the sun than indoors or on an overcast day.

Lens: VR28 Black

I feel the Minute did not need an upgrade, but many models have been moved to the current styles. This along with the Straight Jacket take similar cues, and feature a faux temple lug. This allows for some design coloration and gives it a unique look. Functionally they fit well and are comfortable. The choice of colors does help and is consistent with earlier Minute offerings.

Great frame and nice update ofthe minute. A little bit bigger and extremely comfortable. Even someone with a medium large head can wear these if they don't like a huge lens.
