Mine are black. I have the 6 inch and 8 inch. I used the 6 inch while in the firefighter academy and I use them for work. They are good and pretty darn comfortable. I don't know which generation they are but no part of the sole is sewn into the boot. They do squeak, when wet, but they dry fairly quick. Also, during the winter, my feet stay warm. I cover a lot of ground and the tread does not seem to be fading too quick. They do not have a "clean toe" and won't take a shine. That is a problem in some departments. However, they are great for duty use and PT.

I love this also because this are the military version. These have little vent holes on the side so that your feet can breathe a little when it is too hot.

These are so comfortable. I like this better than the civilian version because the leather is much stronger. It feels like a reel boot instead of a tennis shoe which the civilian version felt like.
