I bought my Gascans with no intention of wearing them, due to purple being a little girly for me. I was wrong. The color is very impressive, and I've gotten nothing but compliments on the color from friends and coworkers.
I have to say the image of the Grape Gascan above is not indicative of the true color of the frame. It looks better in the flesh. It is more of a cross between black and purple in color. I am thankful for this fact, because a straight purple frame would look a little "Kool Aid" for me.
When I first took my Grape Gascans out of the microbag, I thought I had gotten black instead of grape, that is, until I held them up to the light. They go from looking crystal black to looking a very nice purple.
Like Dann said, it's a very subtle purple but if you see it in good lighting, it really jumps out at you and looks great when it does.
Nice Cystal Purple color, that looks black when wearing, but shines when sitting around in your collection. Definitely needs a lot of backlight to show its true beauty.
