A fantastic lens!!!
I prefer these much over the popular and highly rated VR28 Black Iridium Polarized!

As user "linkbeat" mentioned before, the OO B.I.P. appear a bit lighter than the VR28 B.I.P. But the OO B.I.P are bit more easy on the eyes due to the more subtle (G40) tint, and they have IMHO a much stronger visual enhancement: the best way I can describe it - I know it sounds stupid - is that 3D becomes even more 3D! What I mean is that objects suddenly separate themselves much more apart from the background.

These is my favorite lens option from Oakley (close second: Tungsten Iridium Polarized and Shallow Blue Polarized, then VR28 Black Iridium Polarized).

Lens is great. It has (almost) the look of the black iridium but without the grey base. You have a faint nice rose look thru them and is very contrasty. Compare to my VR28 Polarized they are way darker (10% LT vs 15%) but you also add the benefit of the iridium coating which helps cover your eyes.

I will probably use the OO Black Polarized Lens for everything for except driving. I personally find the brown base of the VR28 Polarized lens brighter and more contrasty thus IMO better suited for driving.

One last thing to note is that the OO BIP shows less "poalrization rainbows" than the VR28 Polarized lens.

Love this lens !!

Prior to owning a set of the Split Jackets with OO Black Polarized lens my personal favorite was the VR28 Black Iridium Polarized lens. The OO Black Polarized is now my absolute favorite. The tint of the lens is more rose/pink than the VR28 which in comparison has more of a brown tone. The iridium coating is very strong, and appears just like a standard black iridium polarized lens. But from the viewer's perspective, it's that nice G40 base rather than the gray base. Despite the light transmission rate being the same, it does appear a bit lighter than the VR28 Black iridium polarized.

Huge thumbs up on this lens!

A great lens for driving. I have them in my Whiskers. Got them as replacement lenses after leaving the glasses on the roof of the car... glasses survived, lenses (ordinary black iridium polarized) didn't. I ordered replacements and the shop messed up and got me the OO b.i.p. instead. Wasn't convinced initially, but they've grown on me. I wear them for driving even on quite dull days or late into the evening as the reduction in glare, reflections and haze makes these super comfortable for long drives and the increased contrast from the rose base tint means that they're very restful on the eyes. This is not a flashy lens, it's all about functionality.

Got these in the YSC Batwolf and I was looking foward to seeing what the hype was all about, I was not impressed. I see that many people compare this to the VR28 and I very much prefer that then the OO's. While I agree that the OO is lighter the VR28 just does it more for me. The OO seems very bland and dull. It is a good alternative for those who are tired of the greys and black iridiums.

I bought a pair of Fives Squared with these and agree with Jon can see your eyes there is no Black Iridium to them it's just a grey polarized. A ripoff in my eyes haven't tried any for Jawbones

to John: I dont know about the OO Grey Iridium, but when i wear my Jawbones with my OO Black Iridium Polariced my eyes are completely hidden, they are mirrors to the outside world. :-)

I think it the 00 black iridium polarized are great lens, not so dark as the black iridium, polarized so you avoid the glare but it has like a bit dark rose colour (not black base). They are good lens. But one year after the purchase they started appear some bubles in the edges of the lens near the frame. My girlfriend had another grey polarized lens in her fives and also happened the same. Has Oakley come down since Jannard sold it?
Had anyone any troble like this with the polarized lens?
Regrets

Just wanted to add, the OO Grey Polarized does not hide your eyes what so ever. Just wanted to throw that out there. And I re-looked through both the Vr28 and the OO Grey Polarized, and the Grey is actually much lighter in contrast compared to the VR28. Kind of like a Warm Grey Polarized lens basically. Still great!

I have been hunting these down for a long...long...time. Until recently, they've been unavailable as replacement lenses and the shades they were in, I had no interest for. I FINALLY grabbed a pair for the Flak Jacket and the Fuel Cell. I believe the Fuel Cell version though is the OO Grey Polarized. I may be wrong, but there doesn't seem to be any OO Grey Polarized thread yet.

Anyways, these lenses are great! They're subtle like the VR28 Black Iridium, but have a more rosy color with the G40 base. I already expressed how much I love the VR28 Black Iridium, and these are just amazing. These do seem rather light though, in terms of light transmission. I don't think they're at 10%, and the grey one is at least around the 18% range, but they do the job and they do it well! Amazing lenses. Very satisfied.

I've been using oakleys for 15 years and always happy. My last adquisition are a pair of black jawbones with yellow/red iridium polarized lenses, awesome for snowboarding but ugly and in my opinion not enought iridium cover. So i was between the vr28 black iridium polarized and the OO blackiridium polarized. The later is, in my opinion, way better! The polarization works awesome, the contrasts are better and is the closest i could find to the old bronze titanium mirror wise i had in my old mad dogs. I only can recomend this lenses, they are really awesome!

I returned these the day I got them for my jawbones. the lens isn't dark and looks like a brown purple. very disappointed.

One of Oakley's latest lens options released April 2010. These are my first pair of Oakley Polarized lenses on my OO X-Squared (OO Black Iridium Polarized). It has great clarity and contrast with the benefit of HDO Hydrophobic/Oleophobic (very easy to clean), polarized lenses and black iridium coating for banishing that annoying glare. Works great while driving, doesn't interfere with my car's dashboard LCDs but still blocks glare from the outside world. It is the just right lens from where I live in, hot and sunny weather, even when it's overcast it's still hot and blinding as hell. But these lenses are just too cool for that, if you can't beat the heat, you just have to try one on.

Two thumbs up for this lens as Oakley never ceases to amaze me.
