The first pair of Oakley's I ever saw were a pair of Matte Black Blades with Orange Mirror lens and trigger earstems. I was in seventh grade and they were the coolest things I had ever seen. Two years later I got a pair and that was the begining of the sickness. I got a job as an Asst. Manager at the Sunglass Hut for the sole purpose of being able to get the newest Oakley's and at a discount no less. I sold other stuff, but Oakley was always my passion. They have a style like no other and they very rarely ever miss amazing me everytime something new comes out.

Lol! Great point Rich.

As to the styling (and internal components) I guess I'm just disappointed they are different in relatively minor ways. I was kinda hoping one of them would be a little more along the lines of the Timebomb. Not styled like it, but just a different approach to how it looks. I can understand one of them having a more traditional watch style, but both? Boo I say.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but the Hollow Point and the Full Metal Jacket are the same watch, just the Full Metal Jacket has the pocket watch option? I do really dig the pocket watch though, but it does seem like the point of a pocket watch is to be able to put it in your pocket and take it out easily. Seems like the clasp and the "protrusions" would make that a pain.

Have you seen the Hollowpoint Mr. Bishop? Any thoughts if you have.

I don't recall seeing this before http://www.oakley.com/products/6780/25508 I was kinda excited for a new watch, but that's more than a bit steep nor is it really all that distinctive looking. I like the idea of being able to turn it into a pocket watch though. Wish there were pics of that or that they sold it as the pocketwatch only, but that would probably be $4k by itself. Not a fan.

The Oakley Angel

http://www.oakley.com/community/posts/2883

It looks pretty cool. I'm wondering one of two things: 1st, What it would go for on eBay. 2nd, how long it would take for someone to put a fake one on eBay.

Eds here's a description about how shutter style 3-D glasses work http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LCD_shutter_glasses. It's a little crude but you get the idea.

Man that's cool. I want, but my guess is I'll have to sell internal organs on the black market to pay for it. Anybody willing to donate a kidney? :-p

Thanks again for the info on the Dreamworks stuff. Personally I think 3-D is overrated, but I'm enough of a sucker to buy a pair of 3-D Oakley's if they look decent. Eventually when I replace my current TV, I'm sure the next one with be 3-D ready/capable (whether I want it or not) so then I'll be able to justify my purchase in reverse ;-)

Thanks Defender and OB. To everyone else, thanks as well. I must have missed the 3-D Frogs, but again I don't think that's what was being reffered to the way it sounded. As I mentioned I believe they were the shutter style glasses.

@Zack Do you remember where you heard about the DreamWorks deal?

Was just listening to the Doug Gottleib show on ESPN radio this morning and he was talking about 3-D and how he was at the All-Star game and Aaron Boone had Oakley 3-D glasses (I assume they were watching the game in a press room, Did ESPN broadcast the ASG in 3-D?) and how awesome they were. Anybody know anything about this? My understanding is that shutter style glasses (which is what I assume they were/are) only work with a particular brand; however, I have heard a couple companies making the glasses also have an adapter box that knows/can learn the sync rate of different brands and then broadcasts that to the glases. Maybe he misspoke but it certainly peaked my interest. If they are coming my guess is they'll be in the $300 - 400 range. If anybody knows anything (assuming they can talk about it), I'm all ears.

Zappos has a couple of new bags and cases (or at least I haven't seen them before).

Checkpoint Computer bag

$95 seems a bit high for what is a pretty stripped down case.

Definitely not an iPod fan, but a couple of nice cases there

Looks like Shawn White has helped design a new pair of glasses, the Holbrook. I kinda dig it...

Not sure if this is the best place to post this as this isn't an O release per se, but evidently Nokia has a limited edition Oakley N97 mini with the logo from the Olympics on it.

Not really a Nokia fan anymore, but still kinda cool.

@Robert yeah I think those were the ones. It was kinda hard to see so you're probably right. Plus I was busy doing other things so it's kinda hard to remember exactly.

Sorry if there is a similar thread somewhere else, but I after a quick check, I didn't see anything.

I was catching the women's cross country skiing even today (around 12:30 CST) and it looked like a couple of the women had on Oak's that I've never seen before. I think one of them was Olsson (SP?) from Sweden. They seemed to say Oakley on the side, but was hard to see. The other I can't remember the skier, but she had on a set of silver frames and besides looking like it said Oakley on the arm, it also looked like there was an "O" icon on the top of the bridge. Anyone else see these, know what they are, or if I'm losing what little of my mind I have left. Also, if there isn't another thread like this, please post any other possible new Oaks, mens or womens, you see during the Olympics.

I have to say the Alpha Charlie is one of the coolest bags from O in a while. Definitely on the list (to go with the other three O computer bags I have).

I don't suppose you have any info on pricing? I really like the evade and have been looking for an open frame metal to replace my Why 3's. The Tumbler looks BA too, but just filled my Rx in my Double Down and Gasket, so might have to wait until next time for that one.

Don't worry Michael, I think Rick was taking a shot at me since I mentioned my "girly wrists" when talking about the Jury a while back. Whether "we" have the right to dissent or not doesn't change the fact that the CC is boring. Some people like boring/normal and that's cool with me. I like Oakley because of their distinctive style, which seems to be disappearing more and more, but I don't begrudge those that like the more mainstream approach...if the O thinks that's what they need to do to increase their market share.

I don't like the Crankcase either. I buy Oakley stuff because it looks like nothing else. The Crankcase looks like any other midrange watch except for some O branding cues. Zzzzzzz...

It wouldn't do much good to provide you with the website address as it's only an informational site. It never lists prices (even in Japanese) and rarely any colorways. Like OB said I'm sure a lot of it is Asian exclusives, but I like to put it up just in case. (also it's not very often I get to put up new stuff here, so I want to keep it under my hat, but I promise to share whenever I can) You never know maybe you can work something out with some of our great members who live over that way.
