OK.

I need to find a way to easily review all files that have been downloaded through Internet Explorer.

I was thinking of the "installed programs" thing under the control panels, but once a user deletes the program, I can't see it in the list.

It's for a Windows XP machine.
This is for work.

Remember, this needs to be simple enough for me to be able to teach this to non-IT auditors.

Any ideas? The downloads section of C-net has not been helpful.

thanks!

I'm confused... do you want to know about all files that are downloaded or just programs (.exe)?

Which version of IE?

I'm guessing there is no Download History in IE? Or if there is it's been cleared? Sorry, I don't use IE...

Here is something, maybe...

SOrry. IE8.

I'm looking for a download history from within IE8. If the history has been deleted, I guess we're out of luck.
BUt most people aren't smart enough to do it when the "inquisition" comes to town. The assumption by our enmployees is that this is something we don't audit.

I'm looking for the download of anauthorized programs or files. Visiting of inappropriate sites, etc. But again, this needs to be easy enough for a non-IT person to do. The more tech advanced stuff I would do.

thx!

Dave
