Ok all you X-metal Xperts:

I just got my first pair of Penny's. no box or papers with it, used.

Wanted to know if there are distinguising marks. They're POlished/Ruby. Look pretty old, a lot of hairline scratches in the polish finish.

What should I be looking for for authenticity?

Do Penny's have spring loaded hinges?

There's a very hard to distinghuish number, etched into the left earstem by the hinge: PB025811.

Any thought?

TIA!

Dave,

They're authentic.....Yes, on the spring loaded hinges and the serial is for a polished with black iridium model....the polished usually shows many tiny scratches on them, after some use.

Any fake X-Metal would be readily apparent. Even if for some reason they managed to go as far as actually making it out of metal.
